Sun in Cancer brings volatile blend of energies
If the ground seems to be shaking under your feet, it is less likely to be an earthquake than a personal inner revolution that began last month. We may all like to see our world stay relatively the same, but the fact is that big changes are brewing, and we would do well to embrace the coming season of transformation with a willingness to contribute something positive. The sun entered the water sign of Cancer at the Summer Solstice on June 20, and this was followed by a new moon in Cancer on June 22, which was exactly opposite transformative Pluto in Capricorn. Along with setting the theme for the coming month, this volatile blend of energies served to shake up the status quo on both a personal and global scale.
Wake up call brings important realizations
This month brings two eclipses that herald significant changes in our personal lives as well as big changes in the world. For those born with the sun, moon, or rising sign in Cancer, your lives will be affected most dramatically, but don't worry; it is meant to shake you from complacency into new creativity. Lunar eclipse challenges old, outdated values
On June 7, we have the first in a series of three eclipses this summer that serve to shake up the status quo, challenge our preconceived notions, and generally wake us up to the hidden truth of our lives. A full moon, lunar eclipse in Capricorn leads the way, presenting challenges to find and build upon what is essential and truly meaningful in our lives and in our culture. Old, outdated values will be deeply challenged, and we will be called upon to create a new value system based on our understanding that we are truly all One and anything we do to, or for, another effects the whole. If we are not sleepwalking through life, and if we are open to the inner voice of our Spirit Self, we will become very clear about what to keep and nurture in our lives, and what to discard. Amidst the turmoil in the world, we will tune into our inner voice, allowing our hearts to lead the way to our next important step in this grand play we call life on Earth.
Solar eclipse brings powerful changes on a global scale
During the second and third weeks of July, we have an opportunity to integrate the new realizations that came at the full moon lunar eclipse earlier this month. We discover innovative new ways to reach our goals, we find that networking with others and use of various technology and social media assist us to find solutions to existing problems and open the way for new creativity. On July 21, we have a new moon, total solar eclipse that, in term of duration, is the strongest eclipse we will experience in this century; in fact, we will not have an eclipse that matches this intensity until June of 2132! This one may really rock our boat. Of course, it will have more personal application to those of us who have planets around the very last of Cancer or the first of Leo, but powerful challenges and changes will be felt by all, on both a personal and global scale. The question of preserving a customary way of life will be in everyone's consciousness, and the question of conserving resources will be very much in our awareness. In the three months following this eclipse, we will find new, more efficient and creative or innovative ways to meet our needs.
Sun in Leo-lighthearted sharing , higher consciousness
The day after this powerful eclipse, the sun exits Cancer, entering the dynamic fire sign of Leo on July 22. The intense challenges of the third week of July begin to wane so that, by the last week of the month, we are enjoying the merry dance of the very social and creative Venus in Gemini with the outgoing expressiveness of Mercury in Leo. Alone these aspects might bring only the lighter pleasures of life, but they align with the powerful combination of planets in Aquarius that are calling upon us to step into a higher frequency, to raise our consciousness and relate as one family on planet Earth. Nonetheless, we may find ourselves feeling more relaxed and having more fun than we have in months!

Taurus : In a rare moment, as the sun eclipses the moon early in the month, you have the opportunity to look into your future to see what potentials are available, and your beliefs about life and spirituality begin to change. As a Taurean, you will be resistant to change, but you may recognize the importance of letting go of old habits and values in order for something new to develop in your career or business. The solar eclipse July 21 brings a change in your home and family life.
Gemini : The winds of change blow over your fortunes this month as you see new and perhaps unexpected openings in your financial world. Your partner's resources are the highlight of some important conversations as well. There might be a dizzying display of possible actions you can take but, as always, you are best served by a clear dispassionate review of what is being offered. Cancer : Love is always in the air if you know where to look and how to be open to it. This month you might be asking yourself how attached you are to how you give and receive love. Could you be more open in your relationships and could you allow your partners more access to your heart? Virgo : Your appreciation and devotion to family is highlighted at this time as you re-envision the foundations of your life and question the trajectory that you appear to have set in place.
