Faces of the Sun is the creation of Peter Kater, a four-time Grammy nominee and prolific record producer known for his collaborations with Native American artists for nearly twenty years.
Celebrated for his role in making quintessential recordings of contemporary American music, Kater draws in this album on numerous superb elements of his outstanding career: the sensitivity of Migration , the drama of How The West Was Lost and the excitement of Red Moon , and his own dynamic piano and keyboards.
Refreshing to the ear and inviting to the spirit, these brilliant soundscapes are complimented by an exceptional lineup of guest artists, including Grammy winners Mary Youngblood and Bill Miller, legendary Instrumentalists Tony Levin and Paul McCandles, and Native American Stars Joseph Fire Crow, Kevin Locke, Arvel Bird, Jeff Ball, and Douglas Blue Feather. Still, it stands strong on its own as a superb example of collaborative musicianship.
