BodyMind Counseling Workshop in Encinitas 4/5

“If you change the way you feel, you can change the way you think,” states workshop leader Penelope Young Andrade, LCSW. Bodymind Counseling requires new skills as practitioners transfer their attention from the mental content of clients' complaints to working with clients' actual dis-ease in the present moment. Child's “PLAY!” Film and Speakers: Chopra & Tober in La Jolla 4/5

The Center for Integral Education is sponsoring a thought provoking event entitled “PLAY - Creating Space for Imaginative Play in an Over-Scheduled Society!” on the evening of Saturday, April 5, from 6-9pm. Parents, educators, therapists and anyone else interested in the issues of child rearing, education and the value of imagination will not want to miss it.

There will be a screening of the new PBS documentary “Where Do the Children Play?” which examines the social and technological trends that conspire to rob children of their birthright: time and opportunity for unstructured, spontaneous play, especially outdoors in nature. In addition, the screening will be supplemented with several well-informed speakers on the subject: Mallika Chopra, author of “100 Questions From My Child” and daughter of Deepak Chopra; Jan Tober, author of the world-renowned “Indigo Children” series of books; Susie Walton, a San Diego Parent Educator of the Year and director of Indigo Village and Redirecting Children's Behavior center in San Diego; and Dr. Anthony DeMaria, director of the Cardiovascular Institute at UCSD and editor in chief of the Journal of the American College of Cardiology.

The event is a fundraiser for Integral Elementary School and Rainbow Kids Integral Preschool, to upgrade their play areas for the children. “The Moses Code” Film Screening in San Diego 4/5 & 4/6

Joyful Living Church presents a special screening of The Moses Code , set for a unique synchronized worldwide opening. Breaking the “I”-Barrier Workshop in Bonsall 4/6

Go beyond the domination of ego and experience Oneness. “Breaking the I-Barrier…Becoming Oneness” is an experiential workshop in Bonsall on Sunday, April 6. Offered free of charge by The Stream, a spiritual community based on Oneness and Mutual Support, this event will enable participants to deepen our understanding of the ego / “I”-Barrier and acknowledge the pain of the ego-based universe. Spiritual Economics Class Series starts 4/7 at VISION in SD

Largest Walk / Ride for Epilepsy in the Country 4/27

More than 1,000 people from all over San Diego County will celebrate the largest epilepsy awareness walk/ride in the United States at the 9th Annual “Sharon's Ride / Run / Walk for Epilepsy” at Tecolote Shores Park, in Mission Bay. The goal of Sharon's Ride / Run / Walk for Epilepsy is to raise public awareness about epilepsy, reduce the stigma of seizures, and raise funds for the free programs and services of the Epilepsy Foundation of San Diego County. Registration opens at 7:30am on April 27. The day's events will begin with a 15-mile bike ride beginning at 8:45am and a 5K-walk/run beginning at 9:30am . A finger lickin' good time FREE BBQ-on-the-Bay to immediately follow, featuring lunch host and San Diego restaurant icon, Phil's BBQ!

Festivities will include a bounce house and slide for the kids, an obstacle course for big kids, music, entertainment, special super-hero guests, beach balls, prizes and family fun!

Advance registration is $25 per person or $50 per family (up to four people). Event day registration is also available: $35/individual and $65/family. Harps and Crystal Bowls Benefit Concert 5/18 in Chula Vista

The Dalai Lama's Plea for Peace in Tibet - You Must Act Now

Senior Minister Rev. John Poleski is pleased to announce the new location of SDCSL at 1009 G Street on the corner of 10 th & G in the Heart of Downtown San Diego. After 7 years of meeting in the New School of Architecture Building, the Center has grown and prospered, inspiring the congregation to search for a new church home.

Located only 2 blocks west of their previous address, the new facility offers a bookstore, children's center, classrooms, offices, sanctuary, galley kitchen, and social hall.
