Tsunami Relief Efforts & Message from Dr. Emoto

Indian Ocean Tsunami Unites our Earth Family

The 9.0 earthquake that struck the western coast of Northern Sumatra on Sunday, December 26, spawned a series of tsunamis across the Indian Ocean. These enormous waves left an unprecedented natural catastrophe in their wake. Estimate are that over 140,000 people lost their lives, thousands more are missing and up to one million people will be affected.

There are massive efforts in place to assist the people of this region with daily survival and the rebuilding of their lives. Though this is a tremendous disaster, as with 9/ll, once again our human family has an opportunity to work together for the good of mankind.

Reaching All Who are in Need

Although many international donor organizations have turned their efforts toward the tsunami relief, there are only a handful of humanitarian groups that cross political and religious barriers to get the aid to all who have need. Within hours of the event, efforts were underway by humanitarian groups that were already working in the affected locations.

Eco-philosopher Joanna Macy, Ph.D. is a scholar of Buddhism, general systems theory, and deep ecology. In a recent article on her website (www.joannamacy.net) she supported the efforts of one such group.

“Sarvodaya (a Sanskrit word meaning ‘the awakening of all') is an organization that has been doing long time non-violent social transformation and peace work (following in Gandhi's footsteps) and working for the awakening of human consciousness as well,” explained Macy.

In her article, Macy quoted Sharif Abdullah—a Sarvodaya colleague and the founder of Commonway—as saying, “Sarvodaya's assistance is not restricted by the short-sighted politics of exclusivity. The list of organizations that rely on Sarvodaya's thousands of volunteers reads like a who's who of the development world. I have seen Sarvodaya workers distributing aid from UNICEF to poor villagers in a village that the Sri Lanka government didn't even know existed.”

To donate funds to Sarvodaya, a mostly volunteer organization, by credit card visit www.sarvodaya.org or send a check to: Sarvodaya USA, 5716 Manchester Avenue #3, Los Angeles, CA 90045. Please note on the check that it is for the Tsunami disaster.

San Diegans Step up to the Microphone

On a local note, musical artists held a Tsunami Relief Concert on January 21 at Seaside Church in Encinitas. Headlined by inspirational singer/songwriter Karl Anthony and his wife, Jeanne, over $19 thousand dollars was raised. The line-up of volunteer performers was impressive. San Diego artists including Peter Sprague and the Pass the Drum Band, Amber & Rob Whitlock, and the SuperKids from Scripps Performing Arts Center all came out to entertain a very generous audience.

The Anthonys are now organizing a tour to the tsunami region for this summer. They hope to bring music and emotional support to the people and orphans of the disaster. If you are interested in participating visit www.karlanthony.com.

Contributing on an Energetic Level

Dr. Masuro Emoto, author of The Hidden Messages in Water, encourages the idea that, even from afar, we can have a positive affect on what happens to the people in the tsunami region.

Emoto wrote in a letter to the people of the world, dated December 30, 2004, “Prayers can limit the secondary disaster. To everyone in the world, let us offer a prayer of love to the Indian Ocean rim countries!!

“I feel terribly sorry for the loss that has been caused by the biggest catastrophe of tsunami in history. I am utterly lost for words to offer for the deceased and their family. I just pray to god that their souls shall rest in peace.

“As a Hado (vibration) researcher, I am truly worried about this disaster. As well as the hygiene issue, I feel that the vibrational fields of the countries have extremely deteriorated. The field is created by feelings of fear, grief, worry, lack of trust, anger, loneliness, and helplessness, and could energize the malevolent microorganisms that prefer this kind of environment.

“People cannot help but have these feelings, and they probably carry the feelings with them. Many people feel this way and there seems to be some plundering going on, but their feeling of anger and hostility can only multiply the negativity of the fields. Also, we must take into account the emergence of a new epidemic.

“We have to limit the negative fields in any way possible. I believe that there is already a spreading Hado (vibration) of fear due to the terrorist attack and bombing, and it is like a gasoline station with an oil leak that is about to explode. What can we do? The only way is for people from all over the world to pray for the recovery of the affected area.

“The prayer will definitely carry far with the purity of its Hado. Therefore, from today, let's close our eyes for a few second before our meal and send words of prayer to the countries. Let's send a prayer for them before we go to sleep. Also, when we pray during the end of year and the new year ceremony, let us send a prayer first and foremost for world peace.

“Through the research of the water crystal over the last ten years, I have proven that people's pure energy of consciousness can change the water in areas that people have prayed for, regardless of the distance.

“Also, the most effective Hado prayer is the feeling of Love and Thanks. Now is the time to send everyone's feeling of Love and Thanks to the earth's water.”

The Power of our Thoughts

Dr. Jill Ammon-Wexler in her recent Land on Your Feet Ezine (www.quantum-self.com/ landonyourfeetezine.htm), in support of Emoto's work, she retells a story that exemplifies the power of our thoughts. She writes, “And if you doubt your personal ability to create such an influence in the Indian Ocean area (and in your own body, which is 80% water) - consider this true story related by writer and journalist Bernie Wilt:

‘A man accidentally locked himself in a parked railroad refrigerator car, and wasn't discovered until the next day. During his overnight stay in the refrigerator car he had obviously focused on how cold it was, and how he would surely freeze to death.

Why can we be so sure of his thoughts? Because he was found dead the next morning, and an autopsy reported his cause of death was freezing to death. But—the refrigerator car was non-operational, and the ambient temperature in the car was far above freezing.'

Ammon-Wexler concludes, “So why did he die? He died because he imagined that he would freeze to death, and his brain then just carried out his beliefs.”

As a world family, we have the power to connect through positive thought and deed. How we do this will determine our future. As we nurse our earth and its people back to health, it is important to keep formost in our thoughts that our loving intentions will make all the difference.
