Sun Signs For February 2005

Aquarius Inspires us to a Higher Vision

The sun entered the sign of the humanitarian, Aquarius, on January 19. Known as the water-bearer, and symbolized by the man pouring an urn of water over the Earth, Aquarius brings consciousness to humankind. With its lofty idealism and far reaching vision, Aquarius serves to inspire all of us to a higher way of living. People born with the sun, moon, or rising sign in Aquarius are natural teachers who seek to share their future oriented vision with all who will listen. Often eccentric, Aquarians can be experienced as aloof, and more interested in concepts than in people, so their challenge in life is to stay human and personally connected with others while finding acceptable avenues for expression of their vision and ideals.

Grouping of Planets in Aquarius brings Consciousness shift

As January draws to a close and we enter February, several planets join the sun in Aquarius, first Mercury on January 29, then Venus on February 2, and of course Neptune is in Aquarius all year. This grouping, or “stellium” of planets in Aquarius emphasizes humanitarian qualities and future-oriented thinking, and Neptune adds vision and spiritual inspiration, giving us all quite an opportunity to “jump the rails” of our daily consciousness, and begin attuning to a higher vibration. When vision is first deeply integrated, then translated into action, we have full transformation of consciousness.

Pluto gives us access to Creative Transformation

The New Year began with a significant astrological event, the north nodal axis shift out of Taurus, into Aries. The nodal axis is a point in space along the ecliptic that symbolizes the purpose of the soul's journey in each lifetime. While it was in Taurus for the past eighteen months, we collectively worked on our values, and now that it has progressed into Aries (yes, it moves backward in the zodiac), 2005 is to be a year of creative and innovative action. Wherever the sign Aries is found in one's personal astrological chart is the area in need of direct expression and action this year. In February, the nodal axis forms favorable aspects with the planet of transformation, Pluto, currently in Sagittarius. This gives us access to the energy current of healing and transformation, helping us to connect our actions with our highest beliefs.

New Moon brings Vision of Humanity living as One

On February 8, we have a new moon in Aquarius, joined by Mercury, Neptune and Venus. A new moon brings a new cycle of experience every month, and this one broadcasts a powerful message of the need for humanity to come together as One, united in a vision of a new way of living, a way of peace, creativity and abundance. The vision has been given by a multitude of teachers and way-showers throughout time, but it has never been so present and available as it is now. We are being given a planetary call to action. Will we allow the pull of the past to paralyze us into continually recycling old beliefs and attitudes that no longer serve us, or, will we have the courage and the Love to forge a new way of being? What principles must guide our life if we are to ever experience our world as it was intended to be?

Aquarian awakening yields to Piscean realization

Astrological energies do not create our life as it is; they merely mirror what we are doing with the energy given to us. We have been given free choice. On February 13 and 14, Mercury joins the sun in an exact conjunction in Aquarius, making this a perfect time for realization of who we are, what is true for us, and what our next steps will be. On February 18, the sun completes its journey through Aquarius and enters the last sign of the zodiac, Pisces. For the remainder of the month, Pisces opens the door to a deep inner exploration and spiritual realization.

Full Moon highlights global planetary awakening

On February 23, we have a full moon in Virgo, opposite the sun in Pisces. The full moon brings the energies set at the previous new moon to fruition, allowing the Aquarian vision for a united humanity full expression through our consciousness, actions, and choices. Coupled with the sun at the full moon is Uranus in Pisces, which brings startling, sometimes shocking awareness, designed to open us to a higher state of being. At the same time, Jupiter in Libra, the great and beneficial teacher, links with the planet of unconditional love and acceptance, Neptune, to elevate our consciousness. The choice presented to all of humanity now is, will we continue to live in fear-based thinking, or will we let go of past conditioning and join in a global planetary awakening of unprecedented proportions that is seeking to elevate our planet to a level of conscious co-creation with Spirit. The Aquarian Age has arrived, and we are free to choose.
