A Journey Into Light

A Journey Into Light is Sedona pianist/composer Robin Miller's newest album in a series of inspired contributions to the upliftment of consciousness.

Robin's music is evocative, refreshing to the soul, and has always left me feeling “in the flow” of life. I loved what he called forth from the piano years ago, when he used to play on the patio of Sedona's Coffee Pot Restaurant. My favorites among his 2004 albums were The Heart of Love and Transcendence , and I loved the stylistic and instrumental variety of In the Company of Angels . All three provide peaceful backdrops for writing, meditating, or giving or receiving a massage. I have also enjoyed his vocals.

So I expected this CD to be sort of like a trip back home. But its flavor is new and different, although perhaps foreshadowed by the first cut of Transcendence . Transportive more than uplifting, it was designed to aid us into deep states of meditative stillness, and its four 15-minute segments each take us deeper into an altered reality to experience the Light.

Certainly it speaks to the incredible range of Robin's talent. He began his career as a rock musician, but clearly that was not his destiny. Told by a clairvoyant that he would help millions by bringing through the music of the angelic realms, he stayed open and meditated often… and the music began to come through. “Melodies flow through me effortlessly,” he has commented.

Awarded “New Age Artist of the Year” by Arizona Entertainment Awards in 1993 for his magical keyboard melodies, he began traveling with the Whole Life Expos. He has performed with medium and healer James Van Praagh, who uses his music on several of his meditation tapes, and has received praise from celebrities like Dannion Brinkley, who said “Robin's music is the closest thing to what I heard in my near-death experience.”

Robin still lives in Sedona, but can be heard on FM stations across the country and on DMX cable radio.

Moksha

Moksha presents five instrumental tracks, meditation music based on traditional Indian classical ragas. Peaceful and unobtrusive, this is music that doesn't seem to take you anywhere... but instead provides the opening for you to take your own journey inward.

This CD was conceived by Rajashree Mukherjee, an experienced music therapist who has used Indian classical music to great effect with meditation. She has created this ensemble bringing traditional Indian instruments like the sitar, tabla and flute together with guitar to help silence the mind so that we can reach the tranquil bliss that lies deep within each of us.

This music may be Indian, but it is also universal. Though there are no vocals, the instruments speak clearly to the higher reaches of the soul. In fact, the third song is nothing if not a top-level conversation between sitar and guitar, and in the fourth song the flute, guitar and tabla are making love to each other.
