10th Anniversary of the Season of Nonviolence
Ghandi King Peace Train
& Living Legends of Non Violence Conference
April 18-21, Los Angeles, CA San Jose, CA

In a time when civil morale is at a disturbing low tide, ebbed by diminishing confidence in our political leadership, it is wise to prevail upon the public's own vision for effective, nonviolent approaches to social and political activism. This April, an international lineup of the world's top peace leaders will convene at the Gandhi King Peace Train and Living Legends of Nonviolence Conference , moving from LA to San Jose, April 18-21, 2007.

Foodbites: Servings of recipes, health and wellness

I recently had the opportunity to attend a variety of sessions at the annual Natural Supplements Conference sponsored by UCSD and Scripps Center for Integrative Medicine. More than two dozen nationally renowned medical experts delivered inspiring presentations with evidence-based, comprehensive and timely updates on natural supplements to other doctors and health care practitioners from around the country. Many of these doctors are the ones changing the face of healthcare, shifting from a disease-based paradigm to one that honors a “Whole-Person” approach and emphasizes prevention.

Local artist Karl Anthony is celebrating 20 years of making music, and his 43rd birthday, with a new CD entitled 20 Years Later . Another Perspective
Real Estate:
The Domino Effect

It has been many months since I last reported to you on the situation in the housing market. I have been gratified at the interest that my point of view has generated. I don't sugarcoat my message. I realize it is not one to which readers of The Light Connection are accustomed. It is, in fact, of great credit to the publisher that he saw fit to depart from his bailiwick and allow me to express what, at the time, were very extreme, contrarian and negative views.

The Healing

Julie Newmar is the well-known star of television and films and, of course, the classic Catwoman in the TV series Batman. Not as well-known is that the classic beauty was also a classical pianist, prima ballerina with the LA Opera Co., and a businesswoman who graduated from high school at age 15. She began in films as a choreographer and dancer, becoming so successful in roles on Broadway, such as Stupefyin' Jones in “Li'l Abner,” that she insured her legs for one million dollars. She is also a student of the workings of life, and writer of The Conscious Catwoman Explains Life on Earth .

About six months ago the torture began gradually from a pain in the neck. I was angry at my lover, another lost dream. Can't have that Julie, thinking both blocked and filled the empty spot. I'll do this; I'll do that.... I'll meet people; work on my ten projects, building a restaurant is one. Things moved along, none past fruition. Solace for me was knowing I could apply any of my talents toward any goal, but it took time and I didn't honestly have that kind of time in my life.

What was missing? Appreciation was missing. People loved me; that sank in, sort of. The plain truth was I wasn't living up to my potential at this time in my life. Was the pain the punishment?
