Sun Signs For January 2005

Capricorn brings light of self-realization

The sun entered the sign of leadership, Capricorn, at the Winter Solstice on December 21. One of the most significant passages of the year, the Winter Solstice signals a time of reflection on the past year, and contemplation on the new year's journey ahead. This year's Solstice was particularly important, as it occurred at the galactic center, aligning us with the frequency of universal love, and igniting the possibility of an awakened humanity. In it's highest frequency, Capricorn brings us into the light of self-realization.

The world calls for Capricorn's leadership

All astrological signs have the capacity to be channeled by humans in either the lowest or highest of vibrations. It is completely our choice. The highest possible manifestation of any astrological sun sign can be found by each of us through meditation, and following our inner guidance (not the mind, but the heart). The range of possibilities for those with the sun, moon, or rising sign in Capricorn spans from a dour, all-work-and-no-play, and even bitter personality to that of enlightened soul joyfully leading the way for others. What do you choose, Capricorn brothers and sisters…..the world waits for your leadership!

2005-A year of creative and innovative action

The sun's movement into Capricorn was coupled with the north nodal axis (a point in space along the ecliptic that symbolizes the soul's journey on earth) shift into Aries. The New Year begins with a profound change for all of humanity; 2005 is to be a year of creative and innovative action. The increasing threat for humanity of unthinkable global crisis is forcing the need for a world-wide consciousness transformation that is gathering momentum and may reach critical mass in 2005, if each of us participates in our own awakening and chooses to assist humanity.

New Year's Vision

New Year's Day is traditionally a time to set our vision and intentions for the coming year. As the energies occurring on December 30-31 are a bit unstable with a Mars-Uranus curve ball in the heavens, it is especially important to center, clear, and ground your self with meditation. Allow the joys and lessons of the past year to be integrated, then let go of the past, and focus on what you wish to create in 2005. In this year's vision, include the image that you are living in a world in which all of humanity is aware that we are all One Being, and from this awareness, create your vision for the next year.

Mercury and Venus couple to improve relationships

For almost the entire month, from January 1-29, the planet of communication, Mercury, couples with Venus, the planet of love, beauty and relationship. Traveling together first in Sagittarius until January 9, then in Capricorn, this planetary duo increases our sensitivity in communication, and brings a quality of love and beauty into all of our interactions, and can also be quite creative. On January 4, the pair joins with transformative Pluto, bringing to the surface patterns of relating that need healing, so the first week of January may include some inner “house cleaning,” clearing the way for more deeply rewarding relationship dynamics.

New moon in Capricorn highlights challenges in relationships

On January 10, we have a new moon in Capricorn, opposite the planet of life-lessons, Saturn in Cancer. The tension created from this aspect can be used at the most productive level, to heighten awareness about the quality of leadership we are providing in the world, and the guidance we offer in our families. Jupiter, the great teacher, expands our awareness as it travels through Libra, the sign of relationships. As Jupiter interacts with the Capricorn new moon, it serves to increase our opportunities for learning and improve our ability to maintain inner balance while relating with others

Sun in Aquarius sparks inspiration, challenged at the full moon

The sun completes its journey through Capricorn, entering freedom-loving Aquarius on January 19. While the earth sign Capricorn serves to ground the energies of the incoming New Year, Aquarius, the sign of the humanitarian, brings us the vision and the inspiration to create something entirely new. However, the tense Saturn aspects continue through the remainder of the month and gather momentum at the full moon in Leo on January 25, making our new creations subject to intense scrutiny. This scrutiny need not be painful, however, if we are willing to allow life to show us how and where we are stuck in an old paradigm, or behavior pattern, and how we can free ourselves.

2005 opens the gateway to an Age of Enlightenment

2005 will be a year of immense growth sparked by the outer planets, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto traveling in Pisces, Aquarius and Sagittarius, respectively. These signs come at the end of the zodiac, marking the culmination of a cycle of lessons, spanning the last 84 to 250 years. We have reached, in planetary time, a turning point, the end of the Piscean Age, and the beginning of the Age of Aquarius. Humanity is beginning to awaken, en masse, to the new energetic frequency vibrating around our beautiful globe. With Jupiter in Libra, we are inspired to creatively express, in myriad forms, this new awareness, to be a part of the planetary awakening now occurring. Each person must assist, if we are to safely and surely make this transition into an Age of Enlightenment.
