Thoughts of Love

“It Thoughts of Love , is a simple book that glances at the intimate relationship between the author and his womanfriend. You will witness in these one-page “thoughts” the journey of their young love found and lost and later rediscovered.

While savoring the joy in each ode, one might think the author and his sweetie are in their early twenties, but they're not. They are middle aged. It is amazing how we can feel the giddy excitement of first love at any time.

“...Was it puppy love? I think not. It was a mature love residing in innocent bodies. It wasn't planned. It happens because it is there. It lies dormant in lovers and springs out unexpectedly when receptive hearts come together.”

Through his words, Blair reveals not only his “Brenda” but the soul of any women in love. His sonnets reach into the hearts of all women and bring out the joy we feel for our men, as well as, bringing to life the heartfelt, but often unsaid, thoughts of a man in love.

My Recycled Pets: Diary of a dog addict

My Recycled Pets is one of the most amazing extraordinary personal stories to come across my desk in a while. I say “extraordinary” because it's the story of a unique human being who has lived her life a bit outside the box. (But then, who hasn't? No one I know. So in that sense, extraordinary feels pretty ordinary.)

I cried as I relived the story of Skippy, childhood friend of the canine persuasion. Yes, I'm an incurable dog lover. Can't help it. But I've read dog books before, and few have moved me like this one.Randi Berger has rescued, rehabilitated, and found homes for thousands of dogs over the last 17 years. It's her calling.

Surely she could have sought out a more lucrative career! A dog rescue agency? You got it. Having snatched the mangiest of mutts and most problematic of purebreds from the jaws of death in Southern California animal shelters, she relates the often heart-wrenching stories of how she has been able to give them a second chance at life.

If you love animals, you will thrill to the mesmerizing stories held within the pages of this book. It may even offer you a (doggy) brush with enlightenment! Curl up with cookies and tissues and prepare to laugh and weep your way through it. An outstanding read for a rainy day.

The Forbidden Gift

The Forbidden Gift: the eternal mysteries of life, explored and answered by a disembodied entity. Highly suspect, or gifted with a higher perspective? Judge for yourself. A few excerpts:

“Mankind is highly superstitious. Mankind believes he does not have control over his own autonomic nervous system, and thus feels he must be reliant on external authority figures and philosophical medicines… You are not to live by rules and regulations set by so-called authorities who know what is best for you.”

“My purpose is to motivate a comprehensive investigation of the realities in which you are individually and racially immersed…. An efficient, accurate depth evaluation of your society and cultural conglomerate must take place before anything like equality, life extension on a mass scale and an enhanced standard of living for all….”

I found the book a repository of common sense on topics like love, relationships, time, death, religion and power. Like, “The best lovers are those who are in love with life.” Hello!
