Gandhi & King: A Season for Non-violence begins Jan. 30
The Season of Non-violence's 64-day national campaign is dedicated to demonstrating that non-violence is a powerful way to heal and transform our lives and communities. Inspired by the 50th and 30th memorial anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., the season honors their vision for an empowered world.
As a human family we are asking the question: “How can any act of violence be recognized as a solution to the consequences of violence that we face today?”
The practice of non-violence is initiated by choice and cultivated through agreement. The time has come to agree upon this as a global community—as if our lives, and those of our children's children, depended on it. Our vision is of a better world for all human beings.
To this end, we will apply our efforts and resources to identify and bring together programs that are pro-actualizing a peaceful social order.
For more information contact: Barbara Fields, A Season for Non-violence Project Coordinator, Association for Global New Thought at: 805-563-7343, fax: 805-563-7344, email: members@agnt.org, or visit: www.agnt.org.
