20 Years Later
By Karl Anthony; NewTone Records; 2007; www.karlanthony.com
“I'm tired of drinking dirty water... It's a crazy world, it's a mixed up world, it's a human world, but it's our world.”
The opening song of 20 Years Later brings us an introspective, socially conscious Karl Anthony, offering us solid lyrics laden with real-world confusion, balanced by love and acceptance.
Looking at Karl's maturation as a songwriter/singer/musician, we see reflected the complexities of our own lives, lives that in the best of cases have weathered twists and bruises and held onto hope and determination.

The CD features a couple of my Karl Anthony favorites, “Slow Down” and “Hold On to Each Other.” Musically more complex than some of his earlier work, it brings us a mix of rock and slower rhythms and broadcasts the message that we've had enough of what doesn't work. “Let the world know, we don't want it anymore,” he sings.
And then there's the other side of the coin: “I want more of the same, I want to sing your name.” “Place your hand in mine….”
Yeah. Go, Karl.

The Ultimate Brain
Deep Rest
By Tom Kenyon; Sounds True, Inc: 2006; www.soundstrue.com
The three tracks of The Ultimate Brain are tools designed to help you achieve three different states of luxuriant rest and relaxation. ‘The 22-Minute Vacation' is a guided meditation program makes use of complex psychoacoustic tonal patterns and multisensory experience to take you on a short rejuvenating fantasy vacation. When you have half an hour to lie down undisturbed, this is a treat that will leave you feeling remarkably refreshed. Stereo headphones strongly recommended.

‘The 24-Minute Nap' was “created specifically for those times when you may feel sleep deprived” or need a quick half-hour or so of rest. Again, stereo headphones strongly recommended.
Finally, ‘Sweet Delta' is a sleep-inducing track that combines soothing psychoacoustic music with low-delta frequencies to foster a deeper state of sleep. (Laurie at TLC likens its effect to that of a purring cat.)
If you have trouble sleeping or just love a relaxing nap, you definitely out to give this CD a try. I can attest from personal experience that it works...
