How To Turn Anger Into Love
A Spiritual Guide
by Reshmi M. Siddique, Ph.D., and Mahmood I. Siddique, D.O.; QualHealth Inc.; 2004; 149 pages; $14.95; ISBN 1-932675- 41-8; www.HowToTurnAnger Into Love.com; 609-658-9917
Anger eating at you? What to do? Unfortunately, most of us don't handle anger well. Either we suppress it and let it eat at us, or we express it aggressively and let it eat everyone else! |
|
But exploding in anger is as hard on us as it is on everyone else. The authors of How To Turn Anger Into Love provide ample evidence that both unexpressed and explosively expressed anger are closely linked to heart disease, heart attack, cancer, and other diseases. It's not the anger itself that is the problem, they tell us, but our mishandling of it.
Interestingly, they point out early in the book, that simply learning to speak our anger in a quiet, even voice may protect us from health repercussions. Anger can be a pathway to healing our lives, they tell us. First, they say, anger occurs because we believe ourselves to be separate from each other and from God. The first step offered in learning to manage our anger is the realization that we are all part of one connected energy.
Citing examples from their own and other people's lives, the authors (a married couple) detail how to find the lesson in our anger and defuse it through affirmations, meditation, compassionate communication, forgiveness, kindness, and getting enough sleep. Their explanations are thoughtful and insightful, and the appendix provides a useful summary of how to use all of the above. I found their descriptions of several different kinds of meditation particularly clear, some of the best I've seen.
Reshmi Siddique is a research scientist who has published extensively in the medical and public health fields. Mahmood Siddique is a physician trained in pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine. —Chiwah

“I believe that magic is here for everyone and is right at our fingertips,” says Heath, who branched out from a basis in traditional herbal magic into oils.
“Whether people are looking for personal inner awakening, the key to their innate intuitive abilities, or the power to transform their lives and surroundings, I intend to help open those doors.”
Rich. A must as a reference for anyone interested in magical oils, from the novice to the experienced practitioner.
