International Feng Shui Conference at San Diego Hilton, August 4–9
The beat of the Shaman's drum, the sound of sacred ritual, the inspiration of heightened consciousness from sparks of people joining together to establish a new integrated model of living—all this and much more will be offered in San Diego this summer at the Sixth International Feng Shui Conference. The three-day meeting August 5th–7th, plus pre and post conferences August 4th and 8th, will be held at the Hilton San Diego Resort, a location rich in outdoor ambiance with its sandy shores, locations for outdoor luncheons, a Saturday night banquet and a late night drum circle around a fire pit.
The conference has open registration. The vendor area will be free to the public. An estimated 400 participants, many from San Diego , will join with travelers from around the world in the most exciting content-rich program to come to San Diego since the 80s. At that time, San Diego was birthplace to the Mandala conferences that set the tone for the holistic-health movement. This conference will define careers many of us will be having 20 years from now.
Feng Shui is at least 3000 years old, yet it has been hailed as the environmental science of the 21st Century. According to Roger Green, conference developer and international Feng Shui leader, “The theme of this conference, ‘Heaven, Earth and Humanity,' is a timely focus. Feng Shui is a way of life in the Orient. It is both a science and an art that has influenced the shape of Chinese cities, palaces and villages. Feng Shui is the study of the Heavens and the study of Earth in relation to humans. A healthy relationship with the environment is essential for our health and prosperity.”
Now, however, Feng Shui has become an umbrella word that encompasses an emerging model of healing. It takes the body-mind-spirit model to greater depths of vital energy flows, yet it also expands this model outward into areas of food production, health awareness, eco-architecture, and design.
“Practicing Feng Shui involves a simple shift of attitude toward an earth-friendly cosmology that serves life,” says Green. “Working together necessitates a vision of individual, communal, societal and global harmony. This vision is of a world sustained by sensitivity, intelligence and respect for all beings. At this conference we aim to encourage collaborative learning through the exploration and integration of all the living design and healing arts,”
“In my constant travels, I have met the world leaders who are masterful teachers in the areas of Feng Shui for business, real estate, home, life, ecological design to save the planet, award winning cutting-edge architecture, permaculture and sustainable design. In sacred geometry, we find a way to see the fabric of the universe. At the conference participants can also learn about Taoist healing arts, clearing space, and geomancy. Other topics will be permaculture, ecological architecture, vedic math, and shamanism. Some of these subjects have yet to reach popular awareness. After this conference many more people will know about them. These are studies needed now to reinvent our lives,” Green says.
Presenters from the USA , China , Chile , Spain , Germany , UK , New Zealand and Australia will gather at this conference with people from all over the world to encourage a flourishing of awareness.
The unifying energetic principles of Feng Shui behind the conference have already made inroads into the fields of real estate and health design. Builders are using these principles to design new hospitals. Investors realize that homes with these unifying principles are top market sellers.
Australia 's most famous eco-architect and environmental pioneer, Gareth Cole, will be a presenter as well as 59 other innovators who are coming from around the world to join with participants in this event.
Cole will discuss building materials for low-toxic houses and demonstrate five principles used in planning energy-efficient, healthy homes. These principles won a national energy management award and became policy. Over 74 councils now use this policy in Australia .
Those who participate, will be inspired, uplifted and energized. With whole rooms devoted to particular themes, each person can indulge him- or herself totally in Feng Shui, sacred geometry, green design, astrology, geomancy and space clearing or Spanish language presentations.
Leslie Goldman, one of the conference presenters says, “The success of this conference depends on word of mouth. We can reinvent conscious community life in San Diego and in every city. This conference has the seeds for that kind of reawakening. All who attend will be part of a new energy model of wholeness being born. Christian Hummel will teach how to access the alchemical power of sound for transmutation of earth energies, reduction of pollution, earthquake activity, and more. She helped create a global grassroots pollution-clearing network in over 25 cities.
Alex Stark, a presenter who is a native of Peru , is a student of Curanderismo, an ancient shamanic tradition from the Andes , based on reverence for the earth and reciprocity between all living beings. A graduate of Yale School of Architecture, he is also a practitioner of Feng Shui, oriental geomancy and astrology, who helped the UN Development Program with issues of urban and regional planning. His clients include major hospitals and hotels. “Creating sacred space is a priority in our times,” he says. “From a simple home altar to whole cities, we can re-create sacred environments,”
Michael Borden will teach Vastu science from India . He says, “Architecture is frozen music. A building can be designed in harmonic resonance with the underlying energy structure of the universe.”
Terah Kathryn Collins, who will teach “Soulful Surroundings,” has said, “Each of us has the ability to consciously create a home that honors and reflects our sacred connection with Heaven and Earth... a sacred space where synchro-nicity, joy, and wellness are magnetically held in place.”
This Conference, “Heaven, Earth and Humanity” comes at a much needed time when the connection between Heaven, Earth and Humanity asks to be seen once again.
