Sun Signs For June 2004
The sun entered the playful sign of the twins, Gemini, on May 20, where it will remain until the Summer Solstice on June 20. The first of the trinity of air signs, Gemini represents the mental process, the balance of polarities, and the desire to interact with our environment in myriad ways. While the sun travels through Gemini, we endeavor to connect and communicate with people, ideas, and a variety of situations so we can learn as much as possible.
People born with the sun, moon, or rising sign in Gemini are astonishingly versatile people with a quick wit, great sense of humor, and often a flair for entertaining. Restless by nature, Gemini's find it difficult to commit to one task, direction, or relationship, unless the experience remains fresh and interesting. Gemini people are forever balancing two opposite sides of their own personality in order to find integration and achieve stability.
While the sun transits Gemini in June, it is joined by Venus, and a quite remarkable and rare transit of Venus over the sun occurs on June 8. This phenomena began on May 17 when Venus, opposite the galactic center at 26 Gemini, turned retrograde (apparent backwards motion). As Venus continues its retrograde motion, on June 8 it will pass exactly between the Earth and the sun, an event that only occurs approximately every 120 years. Because of the difference between the speed of Venus's and the Earth's o rbit around the sun, the Venus " eclipse " actually happens in pairs separated by eight years, so we can expect another one, at a moment which has long been predicted to be a time of great awakening for humanity, in June of 2012.
A full moon in Sagittarius on June 2 holds the context for the unique retrograde Venus transit of the sun, with a "grand square" in the sky between the sun, moon, Jupiter and Uranus. Illuminating the frequency of current energies, the full moon this month reveals the disparity between the ideals we hold as truth and the way we conduct our daily lives, especially in personal relationships. While Venus is retrograde in Gemini, we are compelled to review how we communicate with others in the light of the principles we hold to be true. If we accept the precept from the Course in Miracles that any communication that is anything less than love, is merely a cry for help, how can we adapt this truth to our every day living and relating?
It has been suggested that each time we experience a Venus " eclipse " , as we will on June 8, and again in June of 2012, some profound shift occurs in the fabric of humanity that opens a doorway to an entirely new frequency of relating. Since at the eclipse Venus passes precisely between the sun and the Earth, it can be understood to be "interfering" with the usual interchange of energy between our star and our home planet, bringing a harmonizing energy that potentially raises the possibility of a quantum shift in awareness. This month, a doorway opens to a higher form of communication, best described as " communion " . When the heart and spirit are truly present in any interaction, the communication becomes telepathic and transformative. This is humanity's destiny and heritage, which we will begin living between now and the year 2012.
The great awakener, Uranus, turns retrograde in Pisces on June 10, giving us an opportunity to integrate the profound leaps in awareness we have been offered since the solar and lunar eclipses of late April and early May. Uranus in Pisces teaches the principle of surrender. In it's highest and truest sense as a universal principle, surrender is not to be understood as weakness or abdication, but is actually the strength and wisdom to allow Spirit to move through us and be expressed in our human form. With the Venus eclipse happening at nearly the same time as the Uranus station (turning from direct to retrograde motion), it can truly be said that we are living in remarkable times.
On June 17, we have a new moon at 26 degrees of Gemini (exactly at Venus's June 8 station point). Each new moon sets a theme for the coming four weeks. Joined by Mercury in Gemini, with Pluto opposite in Sagittarius, the new moon in Gemini clears the way for a new form of communication where intuitive knowing and telepathic awareness become the norm. There is nothing to "do" about this; simply be aware of the subtle inner changes that bring about this new awareness, and allow them to happen by surrendering to the process.
The Summer Solstice occurs on June 20 as the sun enters the sign of Cancer. A cardinal, feminine, water sign, Cancer may appear meek and mild, but actually contains a lot of power stemming from an inner fortitude that is rooted in caring. As the sun leaves Gemini for it's journey through the moon sign, Cancer, we have a symbolic new beginning where we gather the wisdom and understanding of the past three months and now begin to apply it in practical ways to our everyday lives.
Aries- With Uranus in Pisces now, and for several years, you are clearing up past karma including old beliefs and attitudes. This month, your style of communication is up for review, as your impatience with others and insistence on your own way can bring less than desirable results.
Taurus- June brings an important review of your value system and your relationship to money. You may need to discuss mutual resources with a partner, and clarify shared values. Making financial decisions that are consistent with your values will bring long-term satisfaction and success.
Gemini- While you work steadily toward making big changes in your career, cash flow remains tight. Being responsible and building for the future will yield rewards. You experience turmoil in your romantic life as your sense of self and relationship needs get redefined.
Cancer- This month may find you letting go of an old love, or a romantic ideal that will never manifest. Your faith in your spiritual beliefs can get shaken a bit, but this helps you to discover what is real for you, and to know what you can definitely count on.
Leo- Don't give up on your plans for career and financial expansion; a current set back is temporary, and will resolve. Focus on redefining your long-range goals in the light of this month's renewal of your core values and reassessment of what is both desirable and marketable.
Virgo- This year's nonstop expansion has made excessive demands on your time and energy, adding stress to your home and family life. June is your month for reassessment of your career values and goals. Taking time for physical and spiritual renewal now will bring great benefit for the future.
Libra- An opportunity for travel to new places gives you pause to reflect on the meaning and values in your life. As your ruling planet, Venus, is retrograde this month, your personal relationships and philosophical or spiritual beliefs undergo some review. Making peace with loved ones and forgiving old hurts will free your heart and soul.
Scorpio- This year's emphasis on family life and emotional well being is accented in June by the retrograde of Venus. Challenges with shared values and shared resources may surface, and new, creative means of resolution must be found. Stay true to your beliefs and follow your inner wisdom.
Sagittarius- June is housecleaning month for your personal relationships. Unspoken issues between loved ones will now surface and must be faced directly if you are to avoid turmoil in your home and family. Honest, openhearted, but frank communication is the key to resolving old hurts.
Capricorn- Saturn in your relationship arena has been requiring much soul searching and improvement in your interactions with loved ones. This month, you make needed adjustments and changes in your manner of communicating, allowing more for other's feelings and input. Rest and renewal is essential now.
Aquarius- Creative projects that have been on the shelf need to be brought back to life this month. Do not allow yourself to be distracted by myriad of life's little demands. Your creativity needs to be focused and directed; goals can only be achieved through your willingness to act.
Pisces- Change with a capital "C" has been your keynote since Uranus entered your sign last year. This month, a complete housecleaning takes place in your love relationships, your home life, and your career. One phase of your life is ending while a doorway opens to the next adventure.
