Sun Signs For June 2005
Gemini brings playfulness and much social activity
The sun entered Gemini, the sign of the Twins, on May 20. Following the grounding and stabilizing influence of Taurus in early spring, Gemini brings a touch of whimsy with a delightful playfulness and exuberant humor. While the sun is in the mutable air sign of Gemini, communication is highlighted, friendships are made, and information gets disseminated. Ruled by the planet Mercury, Gemini people are the “Johnny Appleseeds” among us, spreading knowledge, connecting people and events, and linking information for everyone's benefit. People with the sun, moon, or rising sign in Gemini are knowledgeable, articulate, and entertaining, but would do well to become more goal directed to counteract their tendency to fritter energy away.
Sudden changes require new ways of communicating
In the first few days of June, the sun is in conjunction with Mercury in Gemini, increasing communication and connections with others, but it is also in a difficult angle with Uranus, which can bring sudden surprising or upsetting circumstances that challenge the status quo. As Uranus raises the vibration and heightens awareness, this aspect can be beneficial in helping us become more effective in our communication with others. When we speak our truth from our spiritual essence, the vibration of that truth has an uplifting effect upon all people.
Volatile aspect can be used creatively
On June 2, Mars in Pisces makes an exact square (a 90 degree angle indicating stress) to Pluto in Sagittarius. This aspect is traditionally volatile, and is often associated with violence, but how a planetary aspect is experienced is dependant upon the consciousness of each person. If one is largely unaware, the Mars-Pluto aspect may lead to arguments or fights, but with greater awareness, the same aspect can bring the vision and motivation to catalyze spiritually-inspired action that benefits humanity. A favorable aspect from Saturn in Cancer on June 4 helps to lead us toward the more positive expression of the Mars-Pluto aspect, which is to transform aggressiveness into positive assertiveness.
Jupiter brings expansive new relationship experiences
A significant planetary event also occurs on June 5 as the giant planet, Jupiter resumes direct motion in Libra after four months of retrograde (apparent backwards motion). Jupiter is the universal principle of expansion and is associated with growth and positive or beneficial experiences. While in Libra, Jupiter brings relationship experiences that have the potential to enhance our personal growth, but during the retrograde phase, these experiences are to be understood and assimilated into consciousness. As Jupiter now moves forward, we are released from this assimilation phase to once again expand through new experiences.
New moon in Gemini—creativity, changes
On June 6, we have a new moon in Gemini, setting the stage for the many interactions and social events that naturally occur as the sun travels through this mercurial sign. For many, this month will include a plethora of activities that will have us moving at a dizzying pace. The new moon is opposite Pluto, making mid-June a time of potential change and transformation of our philosophical beliefs. Jupiter in Libra and Neptune in Aquarius complete a grand triangle in the sky with the sun and Mercury in Gemini, increasing our artistic and spiritual sensitivities, and bringing new relationship opportunities into our sphere.
Summer Solstice: tremendous activity and creativity
On June 20, we have the Summer Solstice as the sun enters the sign of Cancer, initiating the summer season. The full moon in Capricorn follows on June 21 bringing to light the themes we will experience in the coming three months. With fiery Mars in its home sign of Aries leading the parade of planetary pictures, tremendous activity and output of energy is highlighted for the summer. The last week of June will be a time of great productivity during which it may be difficult to maintain balance in the other arenas of our lives. Fortunately, Venus and Mercury come together and join Saturn in the last few days of June, which will help to ground and give form to this week's highly creative energy.
Aries —Your social life expands, bringing friends, relatives and new acquaintances into your sphere. With so many opportunities present, you may find yourself spread way too thin and burning the candle at both ends. The frustration you have suffered in getting new projects off the ground since January releases at the end of June, and you are able to move ahead with your vision and creativity.
Taurus —As the karma finally completes this month, you get relief from long standing difficult and frustrating communication issues with relatives or neighbors. The new moon brings positive financial energy, with several opportunities for expansion on the horizon. Avoid being influenced by others; remember to trust your instincts and follow your own inner truth when making important decisions, especially those involving investments.
Gemini —The new moon in your sign brings a surge of creativity inspired by an inner spiritual awakening that expands your vision to new horizons. Much of the financial frustration over the past few months is alleviated as you get clearer which direction you wish your life to take. You are ready to move forward, but adjustments in your primary relationships are necessary in order for you to fulfill your goals.
Cancer —With Saturn leaving your sign at the end of June, the frustration in achieving career goals that you have been experiencing over the past six months will resolve. Some period of inner reflection and meditation will be important for you this month, bringing deeper insight into the meaning of recent challenges, and the purpose they help you accomplish. Old religious or philosophical beliefs must dissolve to make way for your own inner wisdom to develop.
Leo —The last of some very old karmic residue or habitual patterns gets cleared this month, relieving you of frustration in communicating your higher understanding. Communication flows easily now and creative ideas abound. People are naturally drawn to you and wish to hear what you have to say, but avoid getting pulled off track by others' attention and remember to keep focused on your own goals.
Virgo —Upheaval in your home and family life distracts you from your career goals and it can be easy to lose focus unless you find a way to stay grounded through all the changes. Life is currently asking you to become more flexible in your most important relationships. Knowing that very favorable financial potential continues through the summer and into late October may motivate you to attend to business despite many distractions.
Libra —Long standing stress from extraordinary career and personal relationship demands subside by the end of the month. Daily routines need to be restructured to give you more time to focus on your mental and physical health. While it may be difficult to maintain consistent focus, do your best to stay centered and grounded, as many new opportunities and brilliant insights come your way later this month.
Scorpio —Life presents an array of possibilities this month, do not allow indecision to stop you from moving forward with important goals. Challenges with educational goals or legal issues will resolve by mid-July, freeing you to focus on career development and to establish healthy life routines. Sagittarius —The new moon in Gemini opposite your sun in Sagittarius may increase your natural restlessness. Avoid making decisions out of impatience simply to have a change; instead utilize this month's dynamic energy to move forward toward worthwhile goals. Creative inspiration is high this month. Friends and group associations bring favorable opportunities and present many fun and unusual social experiences that enhance your life.
Capricorn —You have an array of expansive career opportunities coming this month. Much of the inner vision you have been cultivating is now ready to manifest as activities and relationships support your positive growth in the world. Avoid communication misunderstandings by insisting on clarity and having written agreements.
Aquarius —You may feel as if you are spread too thin, with so many projects going in different directions and your finances stretched to the limit this month. An inner spiritual awakening and heightened creativity brings you much joy and you are able to delight in the little things that bring pleasure.
Pisces —Changes are stirring in your work or career life, and could require you to change residence, or to make room in your home and family life for new energy. This is a good month to make carefully considered investments in real estate, or to improve and increase the value of existing property. Artistic creativity will also be highlighted in June, and although your time is limited, putting energy into creative projects now will be very rewarding.
