Sun Signs For June 2007

Gemini brings delightful playfulness & social interaction

The sun entered Gemini, the sign of the Twins, on May 21. Following the grounding and stabilizing influence of Taurus last month, Gemini brings delightful playfulness and exuberant humor to a full social calendar. While the sun is in the mutable air sign of Gemini, communication is highlighted, friendships are made, and information gets disseminated. Ruled by the planet Mercury, Gemini people create the linkage among us, spreading knowledge, connecting people and events, and sharing information for everyone's benefit. People with the sun, moon, or rising sign in Gemini are knowledgeable, articulate, charming and entertaining, but would do well to become more goal-directed to counteract their tendency to fritter energy away. Once Gemini finds its creative passion, they can be some of the most productive people among us, and they keep us laughing while doing it!

Positive planet flow supports extreme out-put of energy

On May 31, we had a full moon in Sagittarius, opposite the sun in Gemini, adding heightened energy and a sense of excitement to the first week of June. Coupled with Jupiter, and in a favorable aspect to Mars, this full moon sets off fervor of activity, bringing great energy to bear on for tackling the mounting responsibilities of early June. Luckily, we have a very favorable triangle for the first one-half of June between busy Mars, expansive Jupiter, and down-to-earth Saturn, providing the energy needed for extreme out-put of activity along with the more grounded and practical element needed for success.

New moon puts energy in high gear, but retrograde slows

Mid-month, we have a new moon in Gemini anchoring a grand triangle that is joined by transformative Pluto, as well as a mystical rectangle involving Saturn, Jupiter Chiron and Neptune. This June 14 event will be significant for all of us, but particularly significant for anyone with planets in their natal astrology chart in the later degrees of Gemini or Sagittarius. The new moon starts a new 28-day cycle of activity, and this one is focused on communication, expansive growth, determined productivity, social activity, and spirituality. We do, however, have a Mercury retrograde (apparent backwards motion) beginning on June 15. Although Mercury is favorably positioned as it begins its' three-week review cycle, it will tend to slow things down a bit, and with all other planets in high gear for mega activity, this may feel somewhat frustrating. We want to fly; yet we are required to slow down while we are taxiing on the runway to check our systems one more time! The “systems check” is about making sure we are in alignment with our Higher Self guidance as we begin to allow our creative energy to soar.

Summer Solstice highlights activity and creativity

On June 21, we have the Summer Solstice as the sun enters the sign of Cancer, initiating the summer season. The Solstice initiates a pause for reflection, a time of gathering our inner resources, and opening ourselves to inspiration, creativity, and higher guidance. The solstice is a catalytic point for new creation, and, when used consciously, can provide the energetic matrix for all that we desire to manifest in our lives in the coming season. Meditation and focusing of creative intent at this time will help to manifest our heart's desire. As the sun completes its cycle in Gemini and moves into Cancer, our attention becomes more focused on home and family matters. The sun in Cancer brings our attention to what is needed in our lives. We look at what truly nourishes our bodies, and nurtures our soul, and may make decisions that bring greater balance between work and play.

Honest evaluation of how well we are living up to our principles brings clarity

The last week of June will be a time of great productivity during which it may be difficult to maintain balance in the various arenas of our lives. Mercury continues, as it is in retrograde motion, to stimulate a review of the state of our home and family lives, and for Americans, since it is a Cancer nation, a review of the state of the USA. Venus and Saturn come together in Leo, opposing Neptune in Aquarius, stimulating a look at how well we are doing in living up to our higher principles and values as they relate to our personal lives, especially in matters of love and finance. The full moon in Capricorn, opposite the sun and Mercury in Cancer, follows on June 30, bringing to light the themes of heightened activity that were initiated at the Summer Solstice and which we will experience as our reality in the coming three months. If we have been clear in our creative visualization, by staying in tune with our hearts desires, and following our inner spiritual guidance, our lives will feel like they are unfolding in a perfectly orchestrated manner.
