Sun in Gemini brings lighthearted fun
The sun completed its journey through Taurus on May 20, and entered the sign of the twins, Gemini, where it will be until June 20. A mutable air sign, Gemini is playful, curious, social and adaptable, but can lack staying power and needs to develop the focus and discipline to see projects through to completion. Often the life of the party, people with the sun, moon, or rising sign in Gemini are natural entertainers with a wonderful sense of humor, as well as great communicators who are fond of spreading the word of anything newsworthy to all who will listen. Gemini's are intelligent, quick-witted people with diverse interests, making them excellent teachers or writers.
It is time to shift gears while Mercury is retrograde
While the sun is in Gemini, our social calendars tend to get very full, and we may find that we have one too many irons in the fire! The month of June begins with Gemini's ruling planet, Mercury, in a favorable aspect with mystical Neptune, heightening our creativity and bringing spiritual inspiration. On May 26, Mercury, the planet of communication, connections and transportation, turned retrograde (apparent backwards motion), cautioning us to slow down on any new creations and focus instead on completing tasks, communications, and projects on hand. Mercury in Gemini will be retrograde until June 19, during this time, refrain from making hasty decisions, starting new projects, businesses, or relationships, signing contracts, buying new cars or computers, or initiating travel. This three-week period is meant to be a time-out in which you attend to activities that were previously launched, enhancing or improving your life in some way.
New Moon brings romance, beauty and pleasure
On June 3, we have a new moon in Gemini that highlights very favorable planetary aspects that grace our lives for the first two weeks of the month. The planet of love, beauty and harmony, Venus, traveling in Gemini together with the sun heightens our romantic nature, increases our monetary flow and brings pleasurable experiences throughout the month. During the second week of June, the sun and Venus also form a favorable aspect with spiritually-attuned Neptune, further enhancing our artistic ability and meditation practices while the planet of action, Mars, now in creative Leo, gives us the push and sustaining power to make something happen with new inspiration.
Full moon highlights mystical & transformational energies
We have a full moon on June 18, with the sun in Gemini and the moon opposite in Sagittarius highlighting two opposing forces currently at play in our solar system, connected by a very auspicious “mystical rectangle”. Venus, now in Cancer, opposes the planet of transformation, Pluto, challenging our love relationships and values. With its powerful energy to catalyze transformation, Pluto brings to the surface anything in our relationship to money and love that needs to be healed. Additionally, the mystical planet, Neptune opposes Mars in Leo. Mars is our survival urge and represents how we make a living, our work, profession or business. In its highest form, Neptune dissolves energy from lower frequencies, raising the vibration so we become infused with spiritual wisdom, and its connection with Mars gives us the possibility of taking our actions into a higher vibration, aligning more with the truth in our Spirit.
Summer Solstice brings a new start, opening to love and beauty
Mercury in Gemini returns to direct motion on June 19, releasing energy for new starts, connections and communications. On the following day, the sun enters Cancer, and we have the Summer Solstice, which will bring a significant new beginning. If we have kept our energy current and our consciousness clear, we will be open to receiving the inspiration from a delightful mystical rectangle involving the sun, Venus, Neptune, Mars and Pluto, infusing us with wisdom and gracing our lives with a spiritual presence that nourishes our souls at the deepest level. The Summer Solstice on June 20 marks a new starting point that will color our experiences over the next six months, the keynote for which is profound transformation of our values and relationships, grounded and practical applications of spiritual principles with an infusion into the general culture, as well as a growing attunement to the love and beauty that is our Spirit.

Taurus – Home improvement projects that have been on hold get the green light this month, propelled in part by a greater financial flow. Although the remainder of 2008 will see you having more access to money or credit, use your resources wisely, as the tide turns again in 2009. Gemini – The new moon falls in your sign this month, highlighting your very busy life.
