Sun Signs For March 2005
By Carolina Eastwood
Pisces represents the culmination of life experience
The sun entered Neptune's domain, the mystical sign of Pisces, on February 18. The last of the twelve signs of the zodiac, Pisces represents completion, and as such, it is the melting pot for the culmination of our life's experiences, and the place from which we can derive wisdom, if we choose to seek it. Pisces represents the human quest to experience union with the Divine.
Enigmatic Pisces must find soul wisdom
People born with the sun, moon, or rising sign in the mutable waters of Pisces are enigmatic, restless, and often deeply attuned to the subtle and ethereal realms. Highly sensitive and impressionable, Pisces people will either be drawn into escapist pursuits like drugs, alcohol, or other addictions, or they will develop their creativity and express it through music, the arts, and exploration of spirituality. Because the contest between the lower self and the higher self is played out in Pisces, there is often a feeling of discontent and a concern that nothing in this world will ever be fully satisfying, and it may not. The resolution for our Pisces friends is to accept the human condition and find the highest possible expression of soul wisdom.
New Moon highlights stressful interactions
For the first ten days of March, we have several stressful planetary aspects that find their release at the new moon in Pisces on March 10. Jupiter, the planet of fortunate and positive expansion, is in a tense aspect with Saturn, the planet that brings “karma,” or life's lessons. From March 2-7, Mars joins and exacerbates the stressful interaction with its dynamic demand for action. We will each experience this aspect differently, depending on where it plays out in our birth charts; however, there is a universal theme that will affect everyone.
Crisis calls for resolution with family members
Stress arises from internally conflicting needs and desires, but will most likely be played out in our personal or family relationships. Challenges in our primary relationships, and in our home and family life that have been present for many months will get acute in early March, and a crisis in interactions will call for resolution. The new moon on February 10 will facilitate getting everything out in the open, and if lovers or family members are willing, much can be learned and resolved. One way to ensure a positive outcome is to remain aware of our highest purpose and stay true to our principles, looking for a win-win solution that will honor each person's needs.
Several planetary events signal a time of change
One very fortunate aspect with us in March is the joining of the planet of love, harmony and beauty , Venus, with the sun. These two travel in tandem all month, first in Pisces, then in Aries, bringing a spirit and feeling of love and fostering a desire for balance and harmony in our interactions. Several planetary changes occur at once mid-month; Mercury, the planet of communication turns retrograde (apparent backwards motion) on March 19, then the sun leaves Pisces, and enters Aries and we have the Spring Equinox on March 20. While Mercury is retrograde in Aries from March 19 until April 12, our energy for communication becomes more internalized, and we enter a period of reflection. This is not a good time to forge ahead with new creations or projects, but rather a time to refine what we have in motion, and to complete things by tying up any loose ends, or get to projects that have been on hold and finish them.
Spring Equinox brings astrological New Year
The Spring Equinox occurs on March 20 as the sun enters Aries, and this is the inception of the astrological “new year.” If Mercury were not retrograde, this would be a great time to move forward with new ideas, or launch a new project or business, but this year it will work better if things stay in the planning stages for a few more weeks. On March 21, Saturn in Cancer resumes direct motion, bringing to completion a month-long period of inner reflection on emotional and family dynamics. As Saturn completes its journey through Cancer in the coming few months, we will have an opportunity to live and express everything we learned last fall and winter.
Delightful energy animates last the week of March
On March 25, we have a full moon in Libra, opposite the sun, Mercury and Venus in Aries. Most of the tension from early in the month has dissipated, hopefully having found positive resolution, and the full moon brings energy for celebration. Romance will be delightful as the Venus-sun pair find harmony with Mars, igniting a playful sense of passion. Creative inspiration will also be present as Neptune, Jupiter and Mercury aspect favorably. And for the grand finale, Venus and the sun join in an exact conjunction on March 30 with the moon in Sagittarius adding an extra bit of fun to this very romantic mix.
