Sun Signs For March 2007

Pisces clearly reflects wisdom gleaned from the past year

The last month of the astrological year began on February 18 when the sun entered Pisces. As it travels through this receptive, mutable water sign, the sun illuminates the completion of a yearlong journey. Sensitive, psychic and mystical Pisces reflects clearly the essence of our experience over the past twelve months, revealing both the high points and the low points, all the while leading us to greater clarity and wisdom.

Artistic ability, psychic sensitivity and mysticism are Pisces' gifts

People born with the sun, moon, or rising sign in Pisces have a sensitive nature that is highly attuned to the vibrational field of energy in every circumstance. As such, they can be easily affected and may learn at an early age to protect themselves by withdrawing into an inner world of fantasy where they once again feel the peace and harmony that they know is their true nature. From this inner vantage point, enormous artistic or mystical inspiration can arise. If Pisces suffers great disappointment, however, they may be prone to escapism and can do themselves harm in that pursuit. When Pisces is clear and in touch with their inner wisdom, the world can benefit from Pisces' wisdom and great creative gifts.

Mercury retrograde brings reflection and supports completions

If we were in touch with our innermost nature, we would be naturally drawn to gain wisdom through self-reflection while the sun is in Pisces, yet our modern culture imposes an artificial pace we feel compelled to follow, thus missing our natural windows into deep, inspired perception. We may get a nudge from the universe on this, however, as the month of March begins with the planet of communication, Mercury, in retrograde (apparent backwards) motion. While Mercury is retrograde, (which happens three times per year, for about three weeks each time), we are given a window of time in which to review and complete projects or communications that have been left uncompleted in the past. Retrograde from Pisces into Aquarius, Mercury gives us the opportunity to revisit the quality of connection we have to our inner spiritual nature, and how our essential nature is being translated into the world. Especially pronounced during the first week of March, until Mercury resumes direct motion on March 8, this is our time to get crystal-clear in what we intend to create with our lives.

Lunar eclipse in Virgo highlights health and well-being concerns

On March 3, we have a lunar eclipse in Virgo, opposite the sun in Pisces. Joining the sun in the eclipse point is the planet of radical change and awakening to higher states of consciousness, Uranus. Eclipses always bring really important changes into our lives, but with Uranus involved, this one will be especially pronounced. The eclipse of the Virgo moon brings our awareness to health concerns, illuminating changes that will be needed in our diet, spiritual practices, exercise, and daily routines to restore optimum health and vitality. As the national debate on health insurance in America has raised awareness about the lack of preventative care and the poor health of a huge majority of people, including record numbers of children, the eclipse points the way for pivotal change to be introduced. In our personal lives, the Virgo eclipse signals the need to let go of old habits and create a new, healthier life-style.

Solar eclipse in Pisces marks endings with distilled wisdom

A second eclipse occurs on March 18, this one a solar eclipse at the new moon in Pisces, bringing another wave of significant changes. The eclipse point in the last degrees of Pisces interacts with the planet of transformation, Pluto in Sagittarius, to form a dynamic aspect that catalyzes internal changes. The eclipse encourages us to let go of the past. Many aspects of our previous experience are coming to completion this year, and Pluto moves us to make sense of our history, learn from our last cycle of experience, and release it, allowing the distilled wisdom to simply become a part of our nature. The solar eclipse may also challenge us to review our philosophy and spiritual beliefs, to see how much we truly live by what we say we believe. Any disparities revealed by the eclipse can also be bridged in the coming few months, bringing us into greater alignment with our Spirit being.

Desire for growth and new adventure is ignited by Sun in Aries

During the first two weeks of March, we have a grand trine between expansive Jupiter in Sagittarius, disciplined Saturn in Leo, and love-oriented Venus in Aries. Our desire for growth is ignited by our love of adventure, but Saturn puts the brakes on behavior that is too impetuous, reminding us to stay grounded, wait to be certain before making changes, and be aware of the right timing in moving forward. The sun completes its journey through Pisces, entering dynamic, fiery Aries on March 20, and bringing with it the Spring Equinox. As the sun transits Aries, we begin a new, year long cycle of activity that carries with it the seeds of wisdom gleaned from the last cycle. In the aftermath of two powerfully transformative eclipses, and with the planet of communication moving forward again, we enter spring washed clean, renewed, and ready for new creation.

The solar eclipse on March 18 raises awareness of the ramifications of previous financial planning, bringing significant changes in your understanding and management of shared resources or investments.

Virgo – Sudden and unexpected changes arrive following the March 3 eclipse. A large project comes to conclusion, requiring you to quickly and efficiently organize yourself to handle new business or resources, at the same time that you are dealing with upsets in the status quo with partners. Keep your focus on yourself, and what you need to do, and remember that, of all the signs, you are the most capable of bringing disparate resources together in a timely and efficient way.

Libra –– It seems quite clear that one phase of your experience is ending while another is beginning. The lunar eclipse early in the month supports you to release the past, gathering knowledge from the old cycle that will serve you as you begin a new adventure. Family members, friends and partners are supportive and helpful. The solar eclipse mid-month brings changes in your daily routines that will lead to improved health.

Scorpio – The lunar eclipse on March 3 illuminates refinement and changes that are necessary to achieving your goals. Pluto, your ruling planet, is completing its last year of making energy available for transformation of your values and resources. The solar eclipse mid-month brings necessary changes with either your children, or creative projects, or both. As your new or improved career direction begins to take shape, resources flow more freely, and great opportunities arrive.

Sagittarius – Stimulated by your growing need for expansion and new adventures, career changes are on the horizon. The lunar eclipse highlights your need to refine your work so your energy is freed up for other pursuits. Travel or educational and spiritual pursuit brings new experiences that stimulate your creativity. A solar eclipse later in the month catalyzes changes in your home and family life, requiring you to let go and simply trust that some endings are necessary to make way for new beginnings.

Capricorn – The lunar eclipse catalyzes changes in your spiritual or religious beliefs and new learning. You will be reevaluating your philosophy of life in the light of new information or realizations that lead to expanded awareness. In the first half of the month, discussions about the disposition of mutually held assets can be very productive and decisions made now can lead to long-term stability for the future.

Aquarius – Your long term plans for the future are emphasized now as the two eclipses in March stimulate a good, long look at your stream of money and other resources. Communication flows easily during the first half of the month. You will need to work with a partner, or others who are affected by your decisions, to make a plan you can both live with and stick with. This will serve you well in the future.

Pisces – Recent emphasis on career expansion has resulted in a greater financial flow, but also created the need for more time devoted to work, and less time available for your primary relationships. This may have created stress, but the lunar eclipse also highlights patterns in relationships that have long been in need of improvement or refinement. The solar eclipse in your sign shifts the emphasis to you, and changes you can make to establish greater balance.
