Sun in Taurus highlights our values
Following a Solar Eclipse in the last of Aries, the sun entered the sign of the bull, Taurus on April 18. A fixed, feminine earth sign, Taurus is ruled by the planet of love, Venus. For those born with the sun, moon, or rising sign in Taurus, Venus brings a great sense of beauty, appreciation of the arts and finer things in life, and a love of sensuality. Taurus is about values, and having Taurus strong in the natal chart insures that one will encounter the need to develop a set of values that reflects one's deepest truth.
Giving substance to creative ideas

On May 4, we have an almost total Lunar Eclipse in Scorpio-Taurus, bringing us the opportunity to integrate our value system with our higher awareness and inner spiritual truth. Neptune , the planet of higher spiritual principles and divine love, directly challenges the eclipse point from its position in Aquarius. With this eclipse, we are all being asked to deeply search our souls for the truth. Are we simply talking about the Aquarian Age values of humanitarian principles, or are we living these values as expressions and choices made in our daily lives?
Jupiter expands our future vision
After many months of retrograde (apparent backwards) motion, Jupiter, the planet to expansion, growth and opportunities, returns to direct motion on May 4, freeing us to develop and expand our vision for the future, with a renewed sense of clarity about what is possible. Mercury, the planet of communication, returned to direct motion in Aries on April 30, and will be picking up speed in May. This will assist us to bring our new ideas forward and engage fully in present and future concerns. Mercury forms favorable aspects with Jupiter in the middle of May, bringing natural ability and inspired expertise to the fulfillment of our projects.
Venus brings relationship completions
Venus, the planet of love and beauty, turns retrograde in Gemini on May 17. This will bring many things to the surface in our relationships that need to be revealed and openly discussed. While Venus is retrograde, often old hurts from past relationships surface, and there is an opportunity to resolve issues from the past, as well as to complete any communication or business that has remained unfinished. The Venus retrograde occurs biyearly, and lasts until June 29. To make good use of this transit, meditate of your past relationships and handle anything that needs forgiveness or completion. Neptune , the planet of mystical awareness, also turns retrograde on May 17, in Aquarius. This should help in adding a deeply reflective quality, and some spiritual wisdom to our inner soul searching and relationship completions.
Moon in Taurus opens healing gateway
On May 18, we have a new moon in the last degrees of Taurus. A new moon initiates the beginning of a new cycle each month, planting the seeds for the next four weeks' spectrum of experience. The new moon in Taurus opens the doorway for healing of past wounds, especially in regard to our role in society, when our own values may conflict with the current societal attitudes. The doorway to communication is opened at this new moon, and much good can come when our intentions are aligned with our heart's desire and our soul's wisdom.The sun completes its' transit of Taurus and enters the sign of the twins, Gemini, on May 20. Most years, the last week of May finds us more light hearted and naturally playful, as the sun enters Gemini, but this year, the sun in Gemini is challenged by Jupiter in Virgo and Uranus in Pisces. These aspects can bring sudden, unexpected challenges, and an overload of stimulus that leads to mental and physical exhaustion. Meditation and contemplation before action will assist us greatly in this time.
