European Court Invalidates Plan to Expand Regulation of Supplements
The European Court of Justice' main advisor has declared the proposed European Union ban on as many as 5,000 widely used vitamin products “invalid.” According to an advocate-general at the Court, the plan would violate European Union principles of legal protection.
The court's decision would appear to represent a victory for the British Health Food Manufacturers Association, the Alliance for Natural Health and the National Association of Health Food Stores, which together mounted enormous opposition to the directives advocated by the drug industry. More than a million petition signatures and a letter of protest were given to Prime Minister Tony Blair, and motions opposing the ban were introduced in both houses of Parliament.
Supplements are already treated more like medicines in Europe than they are here, and the proposed ban would draw health foods and supplements further into the general area of drug controls. Here in the United States, drug companies have been lobbying the Food and Drug Administration for greater control, but according to Whitley Streiber's latest report the FDA presently has no plans to do so.

Chinese Medicine Offers Long-Term Relief for Allergies
With spring in full swing, more than 50 million people will suffer from allergies this season. According to the National Institute of Allergies and Infectious Diseases, allergies are the sixth leading cause of chronic disease in the United States, costing the health care system $18 billion annually.
While Western medicine has thus far been unable to treat allergies beyond offering symptomatic relief, Chinese medicine provides safe, drug-free solutions by way of acupuncture and Nambudripad's Allergy Elimination Treatment (NAET).
An allergy can be seen as an overreaction of the immune system. NAET integrates aspects of chiropractic and kinesiology to balance and strengthen the immune system. As the body's chi (vital energy) becomes balanced, allergies cease to manifest.
