The Path

This is a book about the Path to Higher consciousness, written by a man who asked to know what Jesus knew, “and because the Universe always answers such questions, answers were immediately forthcoming, and the author was bombarded with the highest metaphysical teachings….”
It is a book of distinctions, among other things, the first being the distinction between religion and spirituality—followed by the suggestion that “at this stage in the evolution of human consciousness… we wish to substitute the term “consciousness” for”“spiritual.” The next distinction is that between knowing and believing.”“The difference between the great sages, and miracle workers compared to the rest of the world, is the difference between belief and knowing…. When one knows , the experience has been realized from within, and nothing can shake this knowledge, as it becomes an intrinsic part of consciousness.” |

The next distinction has to do with the path to the Path. Most people find it through pain, Michael tells us. But there is another way, a way that will challenge every belief system and send anyone not grounded in the infallibility of Divine Love spiraling off into mental instability.
Regardless how we get to the Path, however, Michael assures us that every living man and woman has the capacity to go within. And “within” is the only direction that leads there.
And then there is the distinction between what works and what doesn't work when it comes to strengthening belief. The ego's mania for defending one's beliefs, Michael cautions, leads inevitably to confusion. Is it any wonder our world is in such disarray?
'“It is important to note that all great Teachers such as Jesus and Krishna speak as if there is no separation between them and God,” Michael reminds us.”“This is the ultimate goal….” The distinction between self and God is one that simply isn't worth learning. On the contrary, it's one that is worth un learning.
Chapter after chapter, this book offers distinctions and tools (yoga and some helpful suggestions for meditation, for example) to serve you in finding your way on the Path.
There is nothing new in this book, but plenty of helpful reminders for those who wish to remember. I hope we all do.
Shamanic Mysteries of Egypt
Awakening the Healing Power of the Heart
By: Nicki Scully and Linda Star Wolf; Bear & Company; 2007; 233 pages; $16.00 (pbk); ISBN 978-1-59143-068-1; www.bearandcompanybooks.com
“This book is based upon a startling premise—that the deities of ancient Egypt embody and express the myriad aspects of Nature as archetypal forces that have—‘overseen' the human experiment from the very beginnings of our long journey across eternity. This compelling book will change the lives of its readers. I couldn't put it down!” So says noted anthropological novelist Dr. Hank Wesselman.
That is high praise.
Scully and Star Wolf make the point clearly: “The original ancestors are the deities themselves…. When you breathe deeply, you activate the energy field from your own cellular memory, which is very compact, like a microchip.” |

Shamanic Mysteries of Egypt is a presentation of rituals, meditations and rites of passage that call on the voices of the gods of Egypt to help us remember our true nature as divine beings of sacred purpose. The singular characteristics of each of the twenty-six divinities are explored, along with the gifts they offer us and suggestions for maximizing our availability to receive them.
If you enjoyed Scully's Power Animal Meditations , get ready for immersion into another culture this time. And if you haven't ever trod the path of meditation and ritual to call forth the archetypes within us all, you are sure to find this a fascinating group of journeys into the mysterious depths of your self.
