Celebrate Peace Concert and More, FREE!
The next-wave peace movement is here now. It's happening in the hearts of conscious people all over the globe, and it's a movement . The Celebrate Peace Tour is coming here December 2-3, featuring a concert Saturday night by Spirit Voyage devotional singing star Snatam Kaur at Christ Unity Church, 3770 Altadena Avenue, San Diego.
But there's more. It's a whole weekend of celebration! For, as Snatam Kaur says, “I believe that peace already exists within each of us, and it is a matter of recognizing it and celebrating it.” And the events are FREE.
Friday evening Snatam Kaur will host “Celebrate Peace Children's Hour” with yoga and song (4-5pm); PEACE X PEACE will present “Connecting Women for Peace” Saturday morning (10-12:30); and The Peace Company will present a “Becoming a Peacebuilder” workshop Saturday afternoon (2-4:30), all at IPSB, 1366 Hornblend Street in Pacific Beach.
Although closely allied with this country's 20-million-strong yogic movement, the nationwide Celebrate Peace Tour of which the concert is a part is intended to embrace practitioners of all paths. “Peace happens through dialogue and relationship,” said Celebrate Peace program director Jeff Klein who managed Yanni in the ‘80s.
Led by Peace Cereal, the Celebrate Peace Tour kicked off in September in Washington, DC, with celebration weekends all around the country. The San Diego weekend is sponsored by The Light Connection. Other national sponsors include UTNE Magazine, PEACE X PEACE, and The Peace Company.
Don't want to wait until November to celebrate peace? Go online to celebratepeace.com and order Louise Diamond's book, Celebrate Peace ; to spiritvoyage.com and order Snatam Kaur's CD, Celebrate Peace ; or call Chiwah at 760/434-5224 to attend the Celebrate Peace Study & Activity Group potluck on the coast in North County at 3pm the second Sunday of each month beginning November 13.

Crones Counsel Holds Meetings
You can go to cronescounsel.org for full information about this organization and national conference. More than 10 years ago in San Diego, a group of older women (that's 50+) began monthly meetings as Women of Ancient Wisdom (WOAW). Sitting in circle, they shared the wisdom of their stories and knowledge with laughter and tears. Crones Counsel grew out of small local groups beginning to find one another and finding that they were a community of wise women even though scattered all across the nation. They found it to be wonderfully supportive of the aging process.
This year, Billie Delawie and Rev. Sydney Salt are co-facilitating a workshop called “Initiating the Sacred Feminine Within.” They invite all wise women who wish to joyfully celebrate their age and dance under the full moon to join them. Call Sydney Salt at 760/891-0224, or visit dreamtimecommunications.com.
