Sun Signs For November 2006
With the sun in Scorpio, we seek emotional intimacy
The sun entered Scorpio on October 23, creating a 30-day window of time for inner reflection and personal transformation. During the sun's transit of Libra in late September through October 22, our social life is in full swing and we create or strengthen partnerships, alliances, and love relationships. As the sun moves into Scorpio, our relationships symbolically move to a deeper level where commitment of some type is necessary to sustain the relationship and continue receiving mutual benefits. A fixed, feminine water sign, Scorpio seeks depth of emotional connection, taking us into a realm where trust is necessary because the depth of intimacy creates a powerful mirror that reflects our true self.
Scorpio brings deep personal transformation
Scorpio represents the process of transformation that necessarily takes place in stages. During the first stage, which is represented by the scorpion, we become aware of our lower, instinctual, survivaloriented nature. Driven by passion, greed and fear, we make choices in this first stage that are totally self-focused. These choices naturally lead to pain, taking us to the second stage, represented by the eagle, which is the search for higher meaning and purpose. In this stage, we rise above the instinctual nature to find our more human qualities, and our life becomes governed by ethics that support intelligent and mutually beneficial behavior. The third stage is symbolized by the phoenix. Through the fire of personal transformation, Scorpio rises, letting go of all pre-conceptions, reaching toward the Higher Self, and finding higher spiritual wisdom. This process is ongoing for those with the sun, moon, or rising sign in Scorpio.
Mercury retrograde brings release and completion
We begin the month of November with Mercury, the planet symbolizing communication, in retrograde (apparent backwards) motion. Traveling through Scorpio, Mercury began retrograde motion on October 28, and will continue until November 17. While Mercury is retrograde, our attention is drawn to projects or communications that need completion. To find where this is happening in your life, look at the area of your astrological birth chart governed by Scorpio; whether it is your family life, health, finances, relationships, career, or social life, this area of your life will need some special attention. To use this energy wisely, avoid starting new projects, and focus your attention on everything that needs completion. Get it done, and you will release old energy, freeing yourself up for new creativity.
Large grouping of planets concentrate energy for change
While the sun travels through Scorpio this month, it is joined by four planets; Mars, Venus, Mercury, and Jupiter, forming a large stellium, (planetary grouping) that continues into the third week of November. This super concentration of energy in Scorpio underscores the process of transformation in our lives. We are guided to let go of all that is no longer serving our purpose, to recognize and release aspects of our lower nature that keep us in unfulfilling roles and disappointing experiences. Provided we are willing to let go, this rare grouping of planets gives us an opportunity to take a very large leap in consciousness, landing firmly on our feet in a higher state of awareness.
Planetary aspects at the full moon drive us to transform our lives
On November 5 we have a full moon in Taurus, opposite the sun, with its stellium of planets in Scorpio, highlighting our transformative journey and giving us an opportunity to see where we are in this Scorpionic process of transforming and elevating our consciousness. An aspect from Neptune to the full moon and Scorpio planets helps us to dissolve our resistance to change, shows us what we must release, and provides the vision for us to see our next horizon. Through a tense aspect from Saturn, we experience both resistance to, and pressure for change. Although we often rail against Saturn's boundaries and requirements, Saturn helps us by providing structure and order, allowing us to transform our lives without creating chaos in the process.
Several planets catalyze positive changes
Pluto, the planet ruling Scorpio, challenges our soul path, asking us to look deeply at our intention and creation, nudging us to align with the guidance and truth of our Higher Self, and providing a push to transform our lives. Mercury resumes direct motion on November 17, but will take the remainder of the month to gather speed. Having received our vision for change, we can begin to make plans and move toward fulfilling our vision, but expect progress to be slower until the end of the month. The planet that often brings sudden blasts of new awareness, Uranus, will resume forward motion in Pisces on November 19, contributing to our vision for, and movement toward, substantial life-changes.
New moon highlights changes that lead to burst of creative energy
On November 20, we have a new moon in Scorpio that is highlighted by Jupiter, expanding the potential for deep and meaningful changes that will increase our sense of freedom and release creative energy. On November 22 and 23, the sun and Jupiter leave Scorpio and enter expansive Sagittarius, respectively. As the sun moves from Scorpio to Sagittarius we are released from a deep and often challenging inner journey, ideally taking the wisdom gained, to move into a higher frequency of joyful creativity and exploration. Jupiter moves into its home sign of Sagittarius where it will remain until December of 2007. With the sun and Jupiter together in Sagittarius for the last week of November, we are moved to creative vision and inspired to seek the highest in ourselves and in others. Celebrate your life, feel gratitude, and find the joy in all things.
Aries – The full moon sheds light on your current financial situation. You may have to release old ideas about your future in favor of developing a more immediate plan to improve your life. Take time to review your patterns of behavior in intimate relationships, and let go of an old tendency to use control and manipulation to get your way. Learning to trust in the perfectly natural unfolding of your life and relationships will bring you much greater satisfaction.
Taurus- The full moon in your sign this month puts you in the spotlight, bringing attention to your innovative and creative potentials. Marital or business partners take much of your time and attention, and will need some consideration as old issues surface for clearing. Spending time in group-related activities will stimulate new and innovative ideas that help to shape your long-term goals.
Gemini- Expect changes in your life's routines as new work or career projects require more of your time and energy. This is a great month to take stock of your current health and dietary habits, and make changes that contribute to greater physical vitality. Doing so will sharpen your mind and make you more receptive to the higher frequency energies now available to all who have the sensitivity and spiritual development necessary to be able to receive subtle vibrations.
Cancer- Inspired with spiritual wisdom and intuitive insight, your creative energy runs high this month. With Mercury retrograde, however, you may need to re-think, or revise certain of your projects. Do not allow financial limitations to stop you in your progress, as your current projects are worthy and viable.
Leo – Precipitated by new career goals, your home and family life undergoes much change and transformation this month. A factor adding to the pressure for change is your release of overly idealistic notions about the benefits others may bring. As Saturn continues its transit of your sign, you become increasingly aware of the responsibility you have for the creation of your own reality.
Virgo – As Mercury retrogrades in your house of communication, you will benefit from reviewing your manner, content, and delivery in both personal and business interactions. Also under review are your daily habits and routines. You may find new and more effective ways to accomplish tasks and goals, granting you much needed free time for rest and renewal. Keep your intentions clear and focused, but remember to also keep your heart open and enjoy what you are doing.
Libra- This month, you will benefit from focusing your attention on finances. You may need to review spending habits or the quality and effectiveness of certain investments, and some changes will be required. The necessity for change stimulates you to find creative solutions that may open the door to greater financial flow in the future. Your ideal version of what creativity looks like in your life is dissolving as the light of your higher spiritual awareness demonstrates that your entire life is an on-going creative endeavor.
Scorpio – Mercury retrogrades in your sign, creating a pause for reflection on your over-all direction in life. Since your entire life is a series of transformative events, you are accustomed to the process of change, letting go so that new forms, ideas, paths and relationships can develop. While you continue this month to focus much energy on your career and increasing financial flow, creative new ideas spawn positive and innovative changes.
Sagittarius - Take time for inner reflection and meditation this November. Capricorn – This is your month to find a new vision for your life and formulate new goals. Recent financial strain has given you the impetus to begin looking for new ways to produce income that are more in alignment with your values. This is a great month to form new associations by getting out, meeting people, and participating in group-oriented events.
Aquarius – The career change you have been waiting for has finally arrived. New demands on your time and energy, however, may be adding to strain in your personal relationships.
