Beloved Spiritual Leader, Sri Chinmoy, Passes Away in October
Internationally renowned peace leader and spiritual teacher Sri Chinmoy, 76, passed away October 11 in his home in Queens, New York. The cause of death was a heart attack. Respected and loved worldwide, Sri Chinmoy manifested his philosophy for world peace through a wide array of activities including literature, art, sports and music. Hailed as a modern-day renaissance man, Sri Chinmoy wrote over 1500 books of prose and poetry, composed nearly 21,000 pieces of music and offered more than 750 free Peace Concerts worldwide in venues like the Royal Albert Hall in London and New York's Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall. He was an avid runner and tennis player, and in recent years, a champion weightlifter.
Sri Chinmoy was born on August 27, 1931 in a small village in Bengal, India. Orphaned at the age of 11, he traveled with his six brothers and sisters to a spiritual community in South India, where he spent the next 20 years in intense prayer and meditation. Heeding an inner call, he traveled to the United States in 1964 to serve spiritual seekers and made New York City his home.
A champion of interfaith harmony, Sri Chinmoy was beloved by religious leaders of all denominations. Pope Paul VI, Pope John Paul II, Mother Teresa and the Dalai Lama celebrated Sri Chinmoy as a true servant of God. Archbishop Desmond Tutu wrote of his passing: “Sri Chinmoy was a great man. God is smiling to know the immense good he has accomplished and encouraged in others. In a world of suspicion, hostility and conflict, he worked tirelessly to bring the different faiths together and inspired many to emulate.”
Sri Chinmoy once wrote: “Death is not the end. Death can never be the end. Death is the road. Life is the traveler. The soul is the guide. When the traveler is tired and exhausted, the guide instructs the traveler to take either a short or a long rest, and then the traveler's journey begins again.” We'll see you down the road, Dear One. |

“Destination Peace” for the Holidays with Azim Khamisa Nov 10
International speaker, award-winning author and founder of the Tariq Khamisa Foundation (www.TKF.org), Azim Khamisa teaches his 3-step forgiveness process in a One-Day Forgiveness Intensive entitled “Destination Peace.” The event will run 10am-6pm, Saturday, November 10 at the Marina Village Conference Center, overlooking Mission Bay in San Diego. The Intensive purposefully coincides with upcoming holidays–an ideal time to create a miracle in one's life.
Khamisa promises a day of transformation saying, “So many of us are laden down with hurt, grief and guilt and are therefore not completely free to fully enjoy and experience all that this wonderful life has to offer. This intensive provides an opportunity for people to become freer and to find both peace of mind and peace in their heart which can be especially important during the holidays and family celebrations.” Early registration discounts are offered, go to: www.azimkhamisa.com/ForgivenessJourney.html
Azim Khamisa is a man who walks his talk. After Tony Hicks, a 14-year-old gang member murdered Azim's 20-year-old son, Tariq, while he was delivering pizzas in 1995, he was inspired to transform his loss through the miraculous power of forgiveness. Believing that there were “victims at both ends of the gun,” Khamisa forgave Tony and founded the Tariq Khamisa Foundation. He then asked Ples Felix, Tony's grandfather and guardian, to join him in the work of TKF. They have brought their message to over 20 million people the world over through workshops, audio, video and the media.
You can also come “Take a Tour of TKF” and learn more about TKF's programs and meet the staff at their offices on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays each month. Call: 858/565-0800, TKF is located at 7490 Opportunity Road, Suite 202, San Diego, CA 92111, www.tkf.org

Sweden's Answer to the Dalai Lama visits SoCal Nov 17-19
Best selling author and recording artist, Anette Carlstrom, will share the gift of Awakening into Oneness during her Sacred Chemistry From the Heart Tour in LA and SD, November 17-19. “The search is over, there is nothing to find. It's all about just seeing, allowing and accepting all of who you are in the moment,” says Anette. She has been given a special gift; when she talks, chants or touches your head, there is an energy transmission that carries the power of transformation, it's called The Oneness Blessing (Deeksha).
Anette will share the secret codes and give the Oneness Blessing that transformed her life. This intelligent energy works by creating a neurobiological shift in the brain within the field of unity, bringing an end to the illusion of separation, to help one release and unplug from the illusion of the matrix.
Anette Carlstrom from Sweden has stepped through that doorway of consciousness since receiving the Oneness Blessing at the Oneness University in India 2003. She lives an “awakened life”, is a mother of 2 children, runs a wellness center and travels the world to share her gifts. For registration and info: www.invokethepresence.com or call 858/571-2802.
