Low-Cost Acupuncture Clinic Opens in San Diego
Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, San Diego, has redesigned its community clinic to reflect the original community-style acupuncture model. The high cost of health care has affected many Americans and Pacific College attempts to address this problem by serving patients who many not have the time or finances to afford a more “private,” in-depth treatment. Pacific College's new community clinic opens every Friday from 1:30-4:15pm and each treatment will be $15.
Each visit will focus solely on one symptom of the patient and acupuncture will be the only method used. The goal of these treatments is to relieve symptoms of one major condition at a time. Acupuncture can alleviate problems including allergies, asthma, anxiety, carpal tunnel, headaches, insomnia, neck/shoulder tension, sinusitis, smoking addictions, and can help with appetite control. For more information contact Pacific College of Oriental Medicine at 800/729-0941 or visit www.PacificCollege.edu

Quit Smoking With Acupuncture on 11/20 in SD
One of the most effective methods to help quit smoking is acupuncture. These treatments help to curb cravings and ease the stress of quitting by utilizing auricular (ear) acupuncture, where four to five very small needles are inserted into points corresponding to the lung, kidney and nervous system. It is thought that these needles increase the flow of endorphins, morphine-like hormones that induce a deep state of relaxation. This state is prolonged and leads to a lessening of cravings for nicotine and other drugs.
Pacific College of Oriental Medicine will be celebrating the Great American Smokeout 2008 on Thursday, November 20. On this day, they will be offering $15 acupuncture treatments to help people with their smoking addiction. For more information contact Pacific College at 800/729-0941 or visit www.PacificCollege.edu
