Wishing Dr. George Hashim a Wonderful Retirement; Welcome, Dr. Scott Krause
Long time friend of TLC, dentist Dr. George Hashim recently retired after 32 years of practice in Vista. “It has been a genuine pleasure to have served the dental needs of so many nice people.” Wrote Dr. Hashim In his farewell letter, “Think of me as exchanging my dental mask and explorer for a scuba mask and exploring the Seven Seas.”
Dr. Hashim said he has the good fortune to have a truly outstanding dentist taking over his practice. Dr. Scott Krause has maintained the same staff we know and love, with Laura at the front desk and Cheri in the back office our dental care is in good hands.
In keeping with the same conservative whole-health philosophy of care that Dr. Hashim provided, Dr. Krause uses the most healthful methods and materials in dental care today. There have been some noteworthy changes in the office. Dr. Krause upgraded to digital x-rays which means 90% less radiation and no toxic environmental chemicals and all charts and appointments are now computerized.
Dr. Krause grew up in Nebraska and graduated with highest honors from Loma Linda University. While practicing in Temecula, he made several trips to serve communities in Mexico, Micronesia, Tanzania, Kenya, and Bangladesh as well as donated hundreds of hours serving his local community.
Dr. Krause is a standing member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, and Academy of General Dentistry. Call 760-724-9010 or visit the office at 1001 E. Vista Way #2, Vista.

Sri Chinmoy Award to
Neale Donald Walsch
By July 2007 the wheels were in motion. Spiritual teacher Sri Chinmoy was preparing to meet and honor New York Times bestselling author Neale Donald Walsch. Sri Chinmoy would be honoring him with his “Lifting Up the World with a Oneness Heart Award.” During the proposed ceremony, Sri Chinmoy was to physically lift the author of Conversations with God. Mr. Walsch’s groundbreaking book has to date sold over seven million copies and been translated into 30 languages.
Later that year on October 11. Sri Chinmoy passed away and the ceremony was not able to take place. Three years later on this October 11, Mr. Walsch arrived at Jyoti-Bihanga vegetarian restaurant in San Diego to receive the ‘Torch-Bearer Award.’ The Sri Chinmoy Centre gives the award to individuals exemplifying the spirit of service to humanity that Sri Chinmoy embodied and honored in others.
Mahesh Borkowski a 10-year disciple of Sri Chinmoy organized the presentation. Starting at age 16, Borkowski has read all 27 of Mr. Walsch’s books. He had always dreamt of meeting the author in person.
Walsch’s arrived with his wife and poet Em Claire. Also present for the award ceremony was Sujantra McKeever, one of the founders of Jyoti-Bihanga and owner of Pilgrimage of the Heart Yoga. McKeever noted that Mr.. Walsch was deeply touched by the award. Walsch said he felt that he had found renewed strength and guidance in Sri Chinmoy’s life and example. He said that the most important thing he does in his work is to “step aside,” and let the writings flow through him.
Jyoti-Bihanga is San Diego’s oldest vegetarian restaurant opened by Mahiyan Savage at the suggestion of Sri Chinmoy who advocated a vegetarian diet as an aid toward deeper meditation and spiritual growth. For information call 619-282-4116.
