What's Up With
What the Bleep?

I am bleeping steamed up over the muddle about emotions, the hoary patriarchal/ dominator mode thinking and the subtle sex negativism I see portrayed in ‘What the Bleep'. Much of this muddle is ‘same old same old' mind over matter dualism packaged brilliantly with dazzling cgi (computer generated images) to show us just how fluid reality really is.

San Diego Peacemakers Honored at TFK Event

Eight individuals and organizations in San Diego County dedicated to the fight against youth violence were honored with the “Gandhi Nonviolence Award” for 2004 at a special Awards Ceremony on September 18 at the Joan B. Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice. The Tariq Khamisa Foundation (TKF), a non-profit organization dedicated to combating youth violence through education, hosted the seventh annual event.

There are certain songs that stick in my mind after hearing the great music at Seaside Church in Encinitas. But the truth is I never paid too much attention to the names on the big screen of the composers of the music and the lyrics I enjoyed so much—at least until now. One particular song I really enjoy is the “Release” song. I sing it religiously every Sunday from the back of the congregation. Maybe I shouldn't say “religiously” because that's not exactly how one would describe the message of Seaside Church but, if you heard my voice, you wouldn't describe that sound I make exactly as “singing” either. But I digress. The point is I had the pleasure of interviewing Dr. Michael Beckwith, president of the Association of Global New Thought (AGNT) and founder of Agape Spiritual Center in Los Angeles to learn more about their conference coming up in Palm Springs October 27-31 at the Riviera Resort.

Feel Feelings Fully

Feelings are the language of the body, important, valuable, meaningful; but not who you ultimately are. Though not absolute truth, emotions and sensations are more fundamental than thought or imagery. They are powerful subtle, temporary, expansions and contractions in the physical form–reactions that can be caused by thoughts, circumstances, associations, past situations or future expectations. Often not accurate or exaggerated, these messages need to be watched, allowed, examined, accepted, communicated.

Michael Moore Speaking at Del Mar Fairgrounds Tuesday, October 12

After many mechanizations, and probably gnashing of the teeth, Michael Moore has been scheduled to speak at the Del Mar Fairgrounds at 7pm on Tuesday, October 12.

For those of you who missed it, this has been quite an adventure. The student body at California State University San Marcos (CSUSM) authorized to invite speakers, voted 12-3 to invite Moore. They said that they saw this as a way to raise political awareness on campus. They have.
