What's New . . .
Air America Comes to San Diego
If you haven't been listening to Air America on the web, you've missed a great counterbalance to corporate media saturation. Now they're getting ready to broadcast on the airwaves in our area. They love poking fun at the Bush team and using humor and satire to put another spin on what we're being told. And they are constantly poking their fingers in the eye of Fox news (We Decide, You Listen) and particularly Bill O'Reilly, that blowhard “journalist” who will never let facts get in the way of what he has to say.
Air America is taking KPOP's old spot at 1360-AM, a Clear Channel station and will provide much needed respite from the toxic sludge that has permeated AM Radio here.
The switch from KPOP came as a result of the overwhelming positive response to Clear Channel's test marketing of Air America Radio in Portland , OR , on KPOJ-AM. That station went from a .4 to a 3.7 market share for ages 12+ in the Spring ratings book, even though it signed on late (March 31). Results got even better with adults aged 25-54, bringing the station up from a .3 rating to 4.9, and making in #3 among ALL networks in the market, FM included.
