Pacific Symposium in Nov. 2-5
The 18th annual Pacific Symposium will be Nov. 2 -5 at the Catamaran Resort Hotel in San Diego offering four days of learning and sharing. This year features new faces, and old favorites, all of who are recognized leaders in the Oriental medicine field.
A highlight of this year's Symposium is the popular Restoration Track. The Restoration Track is a hands-on, relaxing series of workshops that provides an in-depth exploration of bodywork and massage. In addition to the restoration track, for the first time a new series of Advanced Acupuncture Techniques Workshops is being offered to provide the opportunity to learn advanced needling, palpatory diagnosis, pulse analysis, and pain management methods. This tract is invaluable to practitioners due to its diverse techniques taught by the most experienced professionals in the field.
Both the Restoration Track and Advanced Acupuncture tracts provide two alternatives to the general session lectures.
The keynote speaker for this Symposium is Ted Kaptchuck, author of The Web That Has No Weaver, who will be discussing how man's view of illness and health have changed from the religious traditions of pre-Confucian times to the rational perspectives evident in the Nei Jing. Kaptchuck will also discuss the quality of Eastern medicine care versus the quantitative approach in biomedicine.
Kaptchuk was involved with the first Symposium in 1989, and each time he has been a speaker he has been in high demand. Currently, Kaptchuk is the associate director of the Center for Alternative Medicine Research and Education at Boston ‘s Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital and Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. Oceanside Business Chosen for 2006 Gandhi Nonviolence Award
Pacific Bakery and its president, Chuck Lowery, was honored at a recent ceremony sponsored by the Tariq Khamisa Foundation of San Diego (www.TKF.org).
The nineteen-year-old business is being acknowledged for supporting many local, national and international social justice organizations as well as hunger, food, and educational programs.
Pacific Bakery makes a line of certified organic, yeast-free breads sold nationwide in natural food stores and at Trader Joe's in CA, NV, AZ and NM. A generous portion of the profit goes to support organizations that promote the social justice movement for peace. In addition, in order to support the domestic economy of the United States, Pacific Bakery purchases ingredients from American family farmers.
Originally, Chuck directed his business charitable contributions to support organic food organizations, but the war in Iraq caused him to broaden his focus. Among the many groups that have benefited from Lowery's dedication and monetary support are Border Angels, North County Coalition for Peace and Justice, the Peace Resource Center, Veterans for Peace, San Diego Foundation for Change, and Guerrero Azteca Peace Project. Through Guerrero Azteca, Lowery and Pacific Bakery offer peace scholarships for high school students as an alternative to military service to finance their college education.

Life Beyond Limiting Beliefs

“In the midst of infinite possibilities, we can spend our entire lives wrestling with circumstances and situations without ever discovering the beliefs that keep us stuck in them. Your individual version of reality influences every choice you make. It colors and shapes every goal you reach for or turn away from, even what dreams you dare to have. Together we will learn how to uncover and identify our own (often hidden) self defeating beliefs, how to see through them and render them obsolete.”

Loving Relationships Training Back
The Loving Relationships Training was a unique seminar created in the U.S. in the early 1980's and has since traveled throughout the world training thousands of people to improve the quality of all their relationships. Now it has been brought back and seminars will begin in San Diego in November.
The LRT was created by Sondra Ray ( www.sondraray.com ) and is an educational and experiential resource dedicated to teaching and supporting high quality relationships in all areas of human interaction. The LRT training enables you to locate and release many of the unconscious patterns that tend to create limitations in your life. LRT offers modern technology to produce results in your friendships, business, and intimate relationships.
The weekend consists of a series of short lectures, one-to-one processes, visualizations, written processes, meditations and Rebirthing/Conscious Connected Breathing.
Sondra Ray, who is the author of 18 books on the subject of relationships and personal growth, has recently passed the torch of her teachings to a small group of qualified LRT trainers. One of whom is Sarah Meier, a resident in San Diego.
Sarah has been studying intensively with Sondra Ray and co-organizing Sondra's seminars in San Diego. Sarah has been involved with human potential programs since 1979. Her goal is to inspire people to greatness. Sarah is excited to bring the LRT back in town to us towards the first weekend of November.
The dates in November are the 2-5 . The times are Thursday and Friday evenings from 6:30 pm – 10:30 pm and Saturday and Sunday from 12 noon – 8 pm.(Ending times are approximate.)
Because the emphasis is on ease and pleasure instead of effort and struggle, the LRT is a fun, easy way to move through a lot of material quickly and to integrate the benefits of the training at the same time.
The information is cutting edge relationship technology integrated with Rebirthing/Conscious Connected Breathing. Thre will be several free preview, two on Sunday, October 8 from 1 pm – 3 pm and another on Monday evening, October 16 th from 7 pm – 9 pm both at Marina Village 1936 Quivira Way, San Diego.
