Autumnal Equinox signals that change is in the wind
The sun entered the sign of balance, love and justice, Libra, at the Autumnal Equinox on September 22. In the Northern hemisphere, Autumn brings a new crispness to the air, the sun setting earlier on the western horizon, and trees turning rich reds, yellows, and golden brown, signaling change in the air. When the sun reaches Libra, midway through the zodiac, and the days and nights are of equal length, we have arrived at a turning point in the natural progression of life. No longer are we simply aware of our own personal concerns; now we become aware of the other. We enter relationship.
Libra's social ability links others; creates relationships
Ruled by the planet Venus, Libra symbolizes the human need and desire for beauty, harmony, fairness, and love. People born with the sun, moon, or rising sign in Libra are naturally relationship-oriented. Romantic, charming and likeable, Libra's, create a wide social network, and can bring together the most diverse groups of people with their friendly, outgoing nature. Because Libra's ruling planet is Venus, the goddess of love, Libra seeks relatedness. A soul chooses a lifetime through Libra when the desire for personal growth and fulfillment can best be realized through the rich landscape and challenges of intimate, personal relationship.
The time for major transformation in our lives and culture has arrived
The sun enters Libra every year at this time, but this is the first time in over two hundred years that it does so in a very dynamic aspect to the planet of transformation, Pluto, now in Capricorn. Always a pivotal time, the Autumn Equinox this year means that big changes which have been brewing for some time can now become manifest. If there are any significant changes we have been contemplating in our personal lives, now is the time to move into action. On that note, we also had the planet of communications, Mercury, after being retrograde (apparent backwards motion ) for three weeks, return to direct motion in Virgo on September 29. This underscores the theme of moving into action with new vision now.
Changes heralded by last summer's eclipses can now be realized
We enter October with much to do, as we experienced three powerful eclipses last summer that brought an awareness of the need and desire for significant changes into our lives. Occurring along the Capricorn-Cancer axis, two eclipses in July brought challenges to old, outdated values, prompting us to look deeply at what we had created in our lives, and the foundation upon which we stand. The gift from these challenges led us to discover what is truly essential and deeply meaningful in our lives. The August eclipse in Aquarius touched our souls deeply, inspiring us to look beyond our own personal concerns, to the larger picture affecting all of humanity. As the sun now moves through Libra, it is time to implement the changes born of our new understanding.
Full moon and mystical rectangle open us to higher inspiration
On October 3, we have a full moon in Aries, opposite the sun in Libra that inspires us to action and holds the possibility for a transformation of consciousness. Illuminated by the full moon, we have an auspicious lineup of planets called a “mystical rectangle” that makes real and practical changes possible. Opening our intuition and higher mind to inspiration from Spirit is the most generous and loving thing we can do. Early October is pregnant with new, innovative ideas, and, as long as we are in alignment with our Higher Self and we hold the vision for our new creation, the necessary resources will be made available.
New moon and planets align to inspire us to heal, transform, and share
October 15 brings a powerful aspect between Venus, the planet of love, and transformational Pluto, prompting us to heal our relationship with love and money. Seeing money as a form of love exchange, an offering and a blessing of receiving, as well as an opportunity to give, that, when given multiplies, just as love multiplies when it is given. As the sun makes its way through Libra this month, it forms a very positive aspect with the planet of spirituality and transcendent love, Neptune, the planet of healing, Chiron, and the planet of opportunity, Jupiter, all in Aquarius, giving us the occasion to redefine our values, find healing and inspiration in our relationships, bring truth and simplicity into our communications, and align our purpose with the greater good for humanity. On October 17, we have a new moon in Libra, and each new moon plants the seed for an upcoming 28-day cycle of experience. This one will be centered upon the quality of our personal relationships, the generosity of our hearts, and the intention to create beauty and harmony in our lives.
Scorpio brings more healing and transformation
The sun completes its journey through Libra when the sun enters Scorpio late in the evening of October 22. Scorpio takes us deeply into our psyche for healing, transformation and greater awareness. Just as the sun enters Scorpio, it forms a difficult aspect with Mars in Leo. On a more unrefined level, this can bring heated arguments, but with greater consciousness, it can be the catalyst to make the difficult, yet necessary, choices and actions. On a global level, at the end of October, we enter the “eye of the storm” with an aspect between the planet of structure and karma, Saturn, which leaves Virgo and enters Libra, and the planet of healing and transformation, Pluto, now in Capricorn. Saturn brings our most compelling life-lessons and Pluto challenges any parts of our psyche that are unacknowledged and unloved. The result is healing.
“Best Days”
The very best days to start new projects or relationships, acquire new clients, launch a creative project, apply for a new job, list your house for sale, and generally start anything new: October 5-6, October 10-11 and 16, October 25-27. The following days are also very good days to expect positive outcomes with existing projects: October 4,7, 15, 17-19, 21-24 and 28. You can also expect reasonably good results on the 3, 8-9 and 29-30. Use the very best days to start anything new. Use the very good days and the reasonably good days to further important projects, businesses, and relationships, and avoid making any new starts on the remaining days.
ARIES : Your place in the world is opening to new possibilities at this time, as plans and wishes that were contemplated during the summer begin to come to fruition. Big career changes continue. Home improvements that facilitate working from home can be set in motion to give you more freedom to work at your own pace and be more innovative. You may also find creative ways to expand your circle of friends and associates.
TAURUS : Some of your most fanciful dreams can begin to take flight as you allow yourself to extend the range of your communications beyond your comfort zone and towards those people and projects that you sense hold greatest promise.
