Sun Signs For September
Virgo brings the harvest of what we have created
The sun entered the practical, analytical earth sign of Virgo on August 22. Symbolized by the virgin holding a bundle of wheat, Virgo represents the “harvest,” both materially, and psychologically, of what we have “sown.” Striving for perfection is central to the Virgo character, and those born with the sun, moon, or rising sign in Virgo are interested in improving everything they come in contact with. The key for Virgo is to become very wise in how, when, and why one delivers critical perceptions.
Full Moon catalyzes breakthroughs
On August 29, we have a full moon in Pisces coupled with Uranus, the great agent of change, opposite the sun in Virgo. Each month, the full moon illuminates a particular theme, and this one is especially significant because Uranus brings awakening to higher levels of consciousness, catalyzing breakthroughs in awareness. Bringing higher wisdom to the “Earth School,” this full moon teaches us that the critical, analytical mental process must be balanced with the spiritually inspired intuitive aspects of our nature.
Mercury moves us to forward motion
Mercury, the planet symbolizing our human ability to communicate and interact with the environment, has been retrograde (apparent backwards motion) since August 9, and resumes direct motion in Leo on September 2. While Mercury is retrograde, we slow down to reflect on our decisions and review our communications of the past few months and make “course corrections” where necessary. Having gained clarity and insight, as Mercury moves forward in early September, we are free to put new plans in motion.
Planetary aspects align us with our soul purpose
For the first two weeks of September, Mercury's aspects align us with our current soul purpose and direction in life. We become keenly aware of the difference between using mental energy to serve the ego , and using mental energy to serve our Spiritual awareness as we bring our Light into the world. One choice brings pain, contraction and lack, the other brings expansion, creativity and joy. As we allow the flow of inspiration from our Higher Selves to get expressed in our attitudes, thoughts and words, we find our lives unfolding in greater harmony.
New moon brings principles for success
On September 14, we have a new moon in Virgo, coupled with Mercury, Mars and Jupiter, setting a new theme for the coming four weeks. The new moon will catalyze transformation of the way we conduct business and manage our personal and family lives, bringing us much more into alignment with the values and underlying principles that are necessary for a successful, fulfilling life. Our focus in the last two weeks of September should be on practical application and well-planned implementation of our ideas for future expansion.
Sun enters the sign of balance & justice
On September 22, we have the Autumn Equinox as the sun enters Libra, and the fall season begins. The sign of balance and fair play, Libra, symbolizes the principle of justice, and seeks harmony in all interactions. While the sun is in Libra, our attention naturally gets drawn to our most significant relationships, and to all that brings beauty and peace into our life. On September 24, Jupiter enters Libra for a 12-month journey in its most favorable sign. Exalted in Libra, Jupiter brings expansion and positive growth in our personal relationships, a sense of fair play in business, and an opportunity to embrace seemingly disparate beliefs and attitudes, to find common ground for positive cooperation in all endeavors.
Full moon in Aries highlights planetary awakening
Mars also enters Libra on September 26, and Mercury follows on September 28, bringing much emphasis in the last week of September to the quality of our personal and business relationships. Also on September 28, we have a full moon in Aries, opposite the sun in Libra, framing a remarkable configuration of planets that have to do with balancing the scales and bringing justice where it is needed, and reward where it is deserved. What will become apparent following this full moon is that a pervasive awakening of humanity is beginning to have a ripple effect in the cultures of our modern day world.
