The book begins with an introduction to subtle energies and an understanding of the interrelationships and rhythms of the body's energy fields. This discussion is in no way airy fairy; I've been working with energy for years, and I learned from it.
Further chapters offer basic energy techniques for maintaining health and vitality; reprogramming deep-seated energy patterns in body and mind; maintaining a healthful hormonal balance; managing the monthly cycle and PMS; enhancing the experience of sexuality, pregnancy and birth; using menopause as a gateway to our second prime of life; and weight management.
Donna Eden is a pioneer in the fi eld of energy medicine, and her husband and coauthor David Feinstein is a clinical psychologist with impeccable credentials. Energy Medicine for Women is extremely clear and well documented, a resource every woman in our community would do well to avail herself of. But it's not a book to read and leave—it's a guide to a better life that will only make a difference if we use it.

Wisdom Rising
“If there is no God, who pops up the Kleenex?” I found that on page 229 of this delightful book. But you don't have to read 229 pages to get to the outrageous stuff. Yet fun though it is, Wisdom Rising is not just a “cutesy” read.
For starters, Vaishali introduces us to the art of lucid dreaming, explaining in simple terms what she has learned about tapping into it and using it to transform her existence.
From there we she leads us on an exploration of cultural voodoos, humanity's collective addiction to creativity, and a hundred-or-so other vital topics, infusing each with childlike innocence and hard-won wisdom. (Hard-won? Well… she claims to have been diagnosed twice as terminal and lived through “years and years of the kind of physical pain you would jump off a building to get out of””— not exactly what you'd call that the fast and easy path to enlightenment.)
Vaishali shares deeply into some of the sources she relied on to pull her through her crises, giving particular attention to Emanuel Swedenborg, who helped her learn the importance of focusing outside the box and insisting on living in an unlimited reality. The book offers unique insight into the life and teachings of Swedenborg and other famous people about whom most of us know relatively little.
The book is divided into six parts. The first, called “Self Help,” draws heavily on the importance of self-acceptance for setting a baseline for unlimited living. And unlimited living is what the book is about.
Of the scores of self-help books I've read and reviewed, I found this one particularly easy to read, with short chapters replete with humor and insight any open-minded person will find interesting and compelling.
